So are they gonna let the kid play both sports? I know he's been offered but I don't know if I've ever heard/read any statements from either coaching staffs. I would assume they'd let him play both if he chose to.

Yeah I believe he will be able to play both, which is a good thing for the athletic department as a whole if he comes to Mizzou. He doesn't seem to have a preference of which sport he would rather play from what I have heard.

Off topic, but I played soccer with him when I was little, I haven't talked to him in a really long time though. Kinda wish I could ask him about the situation though haha.

If the Mizzou coaches do come back with an offer there is a good chance a commitment could happen very quickly as Morrison admitted that it would be very hard to turn down the home state school. One factor that should play a role in how the Tigers proceed with Morrison is the fact that he is on schedule to graduate a semester early. With Morrison in a position to enroll in December he would count against the 2013 class instead of 2014. - See more at: LINK

Markel Smith is visiting Iowa today. I believe this will be his first visit since he decomitted.

How much you wanna bet those crystal ball predictions change to Iowa after his visit? Doesn't mean I think he'll end up there, but the kids is bound to say the right things afterwards and talk about how he enjoyed his visits and those prognosticators will jump all over it calling him an Iowa lean.

I'm already seeing a lot of Iowa predictions for Markel. Hopefully he holds off and waits until the season starts.

I will ignore anything he says until after he visits Mizzou again. He has love for Mizzou and has always wanted. To be there. He just didn't want to rush into a decision without seeing his options.

I think Bauer committing to OM made him have 2nd thoughts. If I remember correctly, he was even on twitter recruiting but then shortly after Bauer committed, he decommitted. I do think/hope he'll come back around, particularly if we get off to a good start.

Question for our Arkansas brethren about Wingo. I have always considered him an Arkansas lock but this past week, Dave Matter (STL newspaper) had an online Q&A and he had made a passing comment about Mizzou and Wingo, nothing definitive, just a comment about maybe still being in the running. Now, Matter will be the first to tell you, I think, that he is not a recruiting guy and doesn't do anything more than report on it, but this out of the blue comment caught my eye because Matter is a graduate of SLUH and of course that is where Wingo goes. Am I just reading too much into it(most likely) or have you guys heard anything lately on Wingo? I really think/thought we are done with DB's.

I think we may take one more DB (I would assume a safety). I say this because MU just offered this DB out of Georgia 3 days ago:

Would love it if we could land either this kid or Wingo. Also, I've heard that Wingo may be recruited by some teams as either a WR or RB...but I haven't heard anything definitive and don't know if Mizzou is considering him on the offensive side of the ball.

I love how much we're concentrating on the OL and DB. I really think this DB class is going to be a special one. Now if only we could land some DT's and get at least 1/3 of Wallace, Bauer, or Johnson...

I've heard that he's not a lock for Arkansas. I don't know if it's because of us or him. Our recruiting guys have been saying for months that we were only going to take 3 CB's and we took our third one last weekend.

Now they've also said that Wingo was a take no matter what because he can play multiple positions but I'm guessing he isn't/wasn't as high of a priority as our fanbase assumed since he is a legacy.

I think him wanting to wait until after the season to decided is one of the problems. We had a 4* CB come to camp last week and ball out. He wanted to commit after camp was over which was unexpected. So you're faced with the predicament of taking this kid that you've seen play on your field, dominated and now wants to be a Razorback or wait on the legacy that is holding out.

Personally, I hope that we still land Wingo. I think he is a tremendous talent. However, I wouldn't be slightly surprised if he went elsewhere.

One team to watch out for is Georgia. Our 247 guy has repeatedly said that if they offer then it could get interesting legacy or not. Apparently, he really, really likes UGA for some reason. I don't know if he expects Ronnie to be with Atlanta still in four years or what. That is the only thing that I could come up with that explain him liking them that much.

Jake Stickler, 6-foot-6, 280-pound from Bradenton, Fla., committed to Georgia Tech over Missouri on Friday...

Article from the AJC... Tough luck guys...

quote:

“It was between Missouri and Georgia Tech,” Stickler said. “On the ride back from Missouri, I had a lot of time to think. It was a 20-hour drive.

“They’re both good schools, but the curriculum at Georgia Tech is more what I’m looking to study. I’m undecided, but I’m leaning more toward Business right now.

“Also, there was just the difference in the coaches. I really have a good relationship with (Georgia Tech assistant Mike) Sewak. I like the way he coaches, I like the way we get along. That played a part in it, along with distance from home.”

Since we already have five offensive linemen committed to us already, I don't the coaching staff will sweat over too much over Mr. Stickler. If he was a defensive linemen, it would be a lot different.

Thanks for update however, I appreciate it.

No surprise there. I would say he has 2 too many stars but I'll bite my tongue instead.

You ready to commit and become a Tiger ?? — Of course , waiting on parents input

6'2" Dual-threat QB Marvin Zanders. He also mentioned August 3rd as a announcement date.

His other notable offers include Georgia Tech, Duke, Iowa State, Kentucky and Wake Forest. Some have offered as a DB, I'm not sure what Mizzou's plans are.

The measurables on his Hudl athletic page have him running a 4.39 fourty-yard dash. If you watch his film he does break away from a lot of defenders.

Apparently Wingo is not interested in Mizzou.

Losing out on too many of the solid recruits in state this year. I don't question Gary Pinkel as a coach. It is as a recruiter that I have always had my doubts and this year proves why.
