Sounds like Frazier doesn't have an offer... feel bad for the kid if he thought different. Even his coach thought he had offer.

Oh, that would truly suck for the kid. How would they mix that up? How can a coach not know whether a kid playing for him has a scholarship offer or not?

Just when you think you saw it all that does suck for Frazier though.... You would think coaches know the status of their players and which schools have offerred or are close to offering their athletes. Gotta feel for the kid.

FWIW... UGA took an OL last week(Jake Edwards)with NO FBS offers... check out this stellar offer list...

BUT...is every one of your commits like that? I think that's the thing that concerns me. It's ok if you have one like that here and there, but a dozen?

Man, that sucks. Feel bad for him. Won't do MU any good in the STL either I'm sure, even if MU did nothing wrong. There's a segment it won't affect, but I do think there will be a segment that it does affect if he truly thought he had an offer.

That's awful for the kid. I hope they'll at least offer him a preferred walk-on spot with a chance to earn a scholarship. Something.

If that kid and coach truly believe he had an MU offer, I really am concerned about any fallout. Lord knows MU has had their history with recruiting the STL.

No kidding. I hope they can work it out so the kid gets some kind of scholarship and a chance to make the team.

So what happened, I'm not on the twitters..

Did this kid tweet that he's committed to Mizzou, to later find out he doesn't have an offer?

I am leaning towards this kid is just crazy.

You all remember that kid who set up a phony press conference at his school? A couple years ago I think.

Yes, he tweeted that he'd committed to play football for Mizzou. Apparently his coach thought he had an offer too. No one seems to know what happened. If they thought he had a legit offer, I feel bad for him.

BTW - any word on our remaining commits? Augusta and the other kid that isn't here yet?

If I sounded like I was downing the kid I was not. I was using my phone to post and that was the only info I had available. Love the fact that he could be versatile to play three or four positions along the Oline and possibly start down the road. This kid has similarities to Joe Staley of the 49ers. He was a 2* TE coming out of high and is now a 2 time pro bowl LT. They have similar size and background, hope he can turn out the same.

People need to get over this thinking for now. We are having to go into areas we have never recruited before. We aren't going to walk in and get kids that everyone in the SEC has offered.

Our staff has to do like it did in texas. Start at all the schools that are not known for D1 talent and/or the small schools bigger schools just don't go to find. In these areas you'll find lots of kids who don't go to recruiting camps and don't know much about recruiting services. They don't have to rush evaluating these kids and it allows them to be 100% sure when offering a kid. Then being the first BCS level offer becomes a big deal to both the kid and the HS program.

This in turn leads to the coaches talking well about Mizzou to all the other schools they know which helps other schools contact Mizzou when they think they have a legit SEC caliber player but nobody around them seems to be interested.

After all this, you take a few of these kids and turn them into productive players. When that happens, all the bigger players in the region will notice and start contacting Mizzou.

As for quality of these kids, I don't get why people are worried. These are kids receiving EARLY offers from Mizzou. These aren't desperate January offers. This staff has a darn good hit rate on early offers and their evaluation system works for mining talent out of no-name areas.

Of all things to worry about with this staff right now, recruiting should be towards the bottom.

Like I said before, I wouldn't be so concerned about it if we had some of the top in state players committed. I get the moving into a new area. I get never being able to out recruit Florida in Florida or Georgia in Georgia. The class would look a whole lot different right now if you locked up the state's top players, and that should happen whether we moved to the SEC or not.

How many OL players do you think MU is seeking this class? We are already at 4 OL commits, which is more than our average over the last 12 years, which tells me the staff probably thinks there's little chance of flipping Bauer or landing Johnson or Wallace. Maybe get 1 of those to happen?

And how different will it look in january when these kids also hold offers from other BCS level schools? Even though literally nothing will have changed, will you feel better just because someone else at another school offered a kid just because Mizzou did? This does happen quite often with these no-names that Mizzou finds.

And we still lost out on Bauer, Johnson, Wallace, Smith, Harrison or whoever? About the same. Again, it is NO reflection on the kids that have committed. My feelings are more based on who has NOT signed(and I'm referring to in state kids) and with a pretty good batch of OLinemen in state, I question how many spots we have left for them.

Is it possible after seeing the destruction of our O-Line with just one year of SEC play that the staff thinks we should be taking more O-Linemen as a priority? depth at a position of need? idk not bashing you just a thought?
