Let's just hope he ends up being another Nick Demien.

Mizzou is forever doomed? The chicken little complex drives me nuts. If you don't think Mizzou has a bright future then why on earth spend another second being a fan? Mizzou wouldn't have jumped into the SEC feet first without the resolve to do what it takes to compete. It may or may not take longer than we would like but it will get done.

That was pretty much my take on it as well. Hopefully Bauer takes it for what it is though, which is pretty much what you said.

In our lifetime? I joke. Though I honestly think we are probably 10 years off from being competitive. While I liked the kids in last years class, I don't see game changers, I don't see depth. So the soonest I see the product on the field drastically changing from what we saw last year is probably 5 years. More realistically, it's 10 years. Anyone know how long it took SC or Ark to adjust and compete for their divisions much less the conference? Am I way off on 5 to 10 years?

I would say this year is our last chance to put up good numbers before we see a decline in depth and skill level. Just IMO. Gotta put ourselves in gear

My 5-10 talk was more about ever being able to compete for the East or for an SEC CG. I hope they put up better numbers though next year than they did last year. I just don't see it as far as net results in the Win column. Pretty losses are still losses.

So you think we end a "pretty" 5-7 next year??

Idk I'd like to think we've got one more year till drop off but I'm not sure it could have already hapened or might not happen for another year... But I'd like to think we have a decent shot in the east next year with a better revolving door opponent etc. I guess maybe not win the east but maybe get second or third.

I've just developed a "they are what they are until they show me they're something different" view of the team. Based on last years team I'd say WINS are Murray State, Toledo, Arkansas State, UK. I'd say LOSSES are UF, UGA, USC, OM and A&M. I'd say TOSS UPS are AT Indiana, Vandy (lean to loss), UT (lean to win). My thoughts then are anywhere from 4-8 to 7-5, so 5-7 isn't out of the question to me, though I do think we can't play worse than last year so it would be "prettier" for lack of a better word.

There is one thing we all were saying at the beginning of football season last year. That is in order to attract top recruits, you have to win games. We could'nt even qualify for a bowl last season. That hurt recruiting. Pinkel has now entrusted his future as coach in a first time OC that wants a HC position somewhere. Scary for Pinkel.

As for EE, whoops, I meant Andy, he's a Mizzou Tiger at heart. By the way, wasn't he commited to Mizzou early on? I thought thia kid had a rock hard relationship with Henson.

I wouldn't call him a "bum." the kid is super strong and I think he has a 50/50 chance of earning a scholly at some point. He is the defensive version of Copeland who did quite well in the SEC last year.

People. Last year was not good. No doubt about it. But...no team...I repeat NO TEAM would have had a good season with all of the O line injuries we had. We need to quit blaming Franklin, Pinkel and everyone else!

Personally not blaming anyone. It just is what it is and that's a 5-7 team. Until they show me they can do better than that they will remain a 5-7 team. Doesn't mean I won't be pulling for them to go 14-0.

Ain't that beautiful. I hope he doesn't feel like everyone is abandoning ship. We need a solid commit to stem any of those kind of thoughts. Would be nice to get someone like Johnson to commit and then feed off of that.

Exactly. We have a good team. We need to stay healthy and the winning will happen. I hope the recruits see that and commit/stay committed.

Its simple. Winning solves everything. I think the Syracuse and Vandy games if Franklin is healthy for those then we would have won them. if we pull 7-9 wins this year it would be huge. And its possible with the schedule.

Franklin wouldn't have changed anything.
