Ole Miss is definitely not an elite school, and no I don't think Arkansas is either, but he still wont leave. He was born and raised in Oxford and Ole Miss is his dream job. They lucked out big time with him because 99% of the time he would be off to a bigger and better job in the next year or two. However he will stay and might make them relevant again for more than a season or two.

Ole Miss is pretty elite.. it's not Alabama, Texas, FLA, or USC, but that's why I said maybe a premier school would be able to get him, so by elite I mean a tier below those mentioned schools.

But yeah, him being from Oxford is the real reason he won't leave.

That would be such a huge get that I refuse to get excited about for fear of being let down. But, those AAU coaches are usually more clued in than even the parents many times.

Dude, no. I suppose if a school like Texas offered, but it would take one of the premier elite programs to get him out of Ole Miss, that is pretty much an elite school as well, just sucked recently.

I live an hour from Oxford. I know more Ole Miss fans than any of the other schools combined. And not ONE of them give a freak about winning. And Freeze knows that from growing up there. Ole Miss won NC in the 50's and 60's with Johnny Vaught coaching them. They are through with winning championships. Partying and looking good is all they care about !!!

As Fernando Lamas always said " It is better to look good and party than it is to win" or something like that.

Maybe we can replace him with some 2 star diamond in the roughs. Not even upset with Markel or with Bauer at this point. Something is seriously wrong in house and the shite needs to get fixed fast or else in 10 months we're going to be talking about how next year will be better yet again.

Ding ding ding posted on STLtoday earlier that I was looking at recruiting numbers for last year. Georgia was 12th in the nation and had 16 4 stars. We've comparatively had 3 4 star's over the past 3 years and 1 five star. That's such a mind boggling disparity.

Not a single one of our commits has an offer to any other school outside of the University of Missouri. Just think about that.

I bet that Grant Jones would if it wasn't obvious he would be going to Mizzou.

Darnell is kind of in the same boat.

We are in a holding pattern. The adjusted (newish) looking offense will have to be put to the test, the team will need to come out and win some games next year for things to start rolling. It's a time of uncertainty, if we come out and suck, Pinkel will likely be gone. No one wants to commit under those circumstance. Wins, we need em. If you win, recruits will come. (poor attempt at 'if you build it people will come')

In the meantime mogray, it's just sick to pull up the 247 state rankings and see 4 of the top 5 committed elsewhere.

I keep looking at the schedule literally every time I get on here. Everyone knows what Mizzou needs to do. Its simple yet difficult. Win. Fact is they HAVE to start off 5-0. Vandy will be rough but they have to win. Recruits will understand falling to Georgia in Georgia. Then after that I think they have to find a way to beat either Florida or USC, and I think Florida given the way we played them is more likely. So if say they start off 6-2 with losses to Georgia and USC, then I think things could start to pick up waiting on Tenn. and Kentucky. The Vandy game to me is a MUST WIN.

I like your optimism but I'm sticking with the old you are what you are until you show me you are something different approach so that I don't get my expectations up. Until they show me otherwise, we lose an OOC game, lose to Vandy, UF, UGA, USC and A&M. Beat UT, UK. OM is up in the air but on the road likely a loss. Another 5-7 record if my math is right.

Im not saying all this will happen. Just my opinion on what NEEDS to happen for things to pick up recruiting wise. If healthy I believe they have talent to be much better than last year offensively. I call it reserved optimism. Looking forward to hearing reports from practice the next few weeks.
