We’re 10-3 going into conference play. Need 10 more conference wins to reach 20. Will we get those?
I think we rely too much on the 3 ball. If those aren’t falling, we’re a below avg team. Guard play, and ball handling which has been well documented here is very bad...Plus, the conference seems to be much improved from top to bottom.

I don’t think we’ll make it to 20. I think 18 might be the number. What say you?

20 should be a good marker, i think they get to 19-21, so that fits right in. if, mpj comes back earlyish, bump that to 21-23 wins

20 is a good goal, I just don’t think we’ll get there. Now if MPJ comes back, AND is effective, the 20 is more realistic. There’s a lot of good teams in the SEC this year....S. Carolina doesn’t appear to be 1 of them though.

Projections
Florida - Toss up
Georgia - Win
Arkansas - Loss
Tennessee - Win
A&M - Loss
Auburn - Win
Mississippi St - Loss
Alabama - Loss
Kentucky - Loss
Ole Miss - Win
Miss St - Win
A&M - Toss Up
LSU - Loss
Ole Miss - Win
Kentucky - Loss
Vanderbilt - Loss
Arkansas - Win

I’ve got us with about 8 more wins. Could get 10 more. Much more than that looks tough with the conference and how they call road games.

We're not losing to Alabama and Kentucky isn't gonna win up here

We’ve never beaten UK. Until we do, I’m hesitant to put us down for a W against them.

Alabama is a talented team. We could easily lose to teams with lesser talent on the road.

Even if we win that one, we could lose at Ole Miss. We’re not winning many more than 10 games in conference play. The way they call the games will insure that.

If you need more evidence of how true that is just look at how many fouls Arkansas had against Moo State at their place. The refs here have a bad tendency to enjoy some home cooking.

No doubt, officiating has made it to where it's almost impossible to win on the road.

It almost seems like the NCAA wants their game to look like AAU games. Fast paced, no defense and lots of 3's. Someone like Silva from South Carolina would have been laughed off the floor 10 years ago. Now he's rewarded because "how dare you play defense." Or maybe because refs don't see enough teams playing solid defense, they overreact to the slightest contact.

Not losing to Kentucky at home this year

Alabama plays to level of competition and this will burn them more often than not

Did they change the rule of block/charge inside that little arc in the lane? Last night, Porter drove the lane, with 2 defenders standing inside the arc, and they called a charge when he tried to split the defenders.

There was a LOT of home cooking by the stripes last night. Especially odorous in the first half.

I think Mizzou hits 20 wins and just might receive a low seed invite to the Tourney.

IMO, if that happens it might be a nightmare matchup in the first round with someone..., a 14-15 seed Mizzou team with size that is streaky good from the arc...

Right now Mizzou is projected as a 9 seed in the NCAA tournament.

It’s super rare for a P6 conference team to get into the tournament below an 11 or 12 seed.

There certainly was. But, I guess that’s life on the road in conference. If we take care of business, the officiating shouldn’t be an issue. I do worry how much we rely on the 3 ball. If those aren’t falling (see Illinois game) then we’re in big trouble. For some reason the staff just doesn’t develop an inside game. Our 6’11 guy plays outside and shoots 3’s. Our 6’8 forward sits outside and shoots 3’s. Take the ball to the hole! Hit the boards!

CVL and Harris are the only players to have taken 3’s this season that are shooting worse than last year’s best outside shooter.

That’s not because Mizzou has great outside shooters. Hollander and Mann have done a great job with the offense this season.

I understand, but when the 3’s aren’t falling, it would be nice to see Porter, Barnett, and Tilmon on the inside, and feed them! If we had done anything inside against Illinois, we win. The 3 ball definitely wasn’t falling that night, and we looked like a below average team. Even Kentucky against LSU last night changed their game plan, and went inside. Cal said they were shooting too many jump shots, and missing, and losing the game.
For crying out loud, Porter is 6’10...Tilmon 6’11...and Barnett is 6’8. That’s a big frontline! Should be able to score on anybody.
