Who should be our new Sunday starter?

Evan Mitchell has been awful this entire year, and I don't know why Cohen would let him keep on starting. In yesterday's game, he walked 3 and had 1 HBP, and he gave up three runs, while not even getting an out. Who will replace him in the rotation?

I think it will either be Ross Mitchell or Pollo.

Is Evan Mitchell battling an injury or something? I've been surprised by his pitching too. Cohen needs to knock him down to mid-week starter and let him get his shite together for a few weeks.

Nope, just battling his little pea-brain. He and Woodruff just don't have the mental toughness right now to start in the SEC. Hopefully that can be worked on.

My guess would be Cox. He has been solid in his starts this year, and one of our main strengths is our bullpen. I'd hate to burn up R. Mitchell or Bracewell in a start situation given how good they have been out of the pen.
Also, Bracewell should be the closer for now. Holder is rapidly catching the E. Mitchell/Woodruff disease.

This is true.

The topic is

and you say...

one of our main strengths is our bullpen.

This can not be true based on what we're talking about here. Right now we don't have an ace, we don't have a clear Sunday starter, and our closer is struggling...since this is the case, and if our bullpen really is one of our main strengths, then what does that say about our team?

I haven't been able to watch Woodruff much so far. Is he throwing as hard as he did last year? Is it all mental at this point or is he still not 100%?

The point I'm getting at is..

Get ready for some more series losses until we can get something figured out in our pitching. Errors are going to happen, batting slumps are going to happen, our pitching has to rise about it all and our starters have been the weak link so far.

Cannot hit the strike zone to save his life. That's the issue. Same with Mitchell.

Lindgren and Graveman have been very solid. Cox has been solid in his starts (although none have been against SEC competition). Bracewell, Pollo, R. Mitchell, Gentry, and Girodo have all been great out of the pen. All I am saying is that when looking at the staff, Cox was clearly the 4th starter and has been solid in his starts. I think he should get the 3rd spot while E. Mitchell is visiting with a sports psychiatrist.

Given the current state of the staff, I'd throw things like this.
1) Lindgren
2) Graveman
3) Cox
Relief if game is close:
R. Mitchell
Pollo
Gentry
Only comes in to face lefties:
Girodo
Closer:
Bracewell

Relief if up or down by more than 4:
E. Mitchell
CT
Girodo
Woodruff
Holder
Anyone else.

I would go Pollo or Gentry or possibly just string them together since they are both 4 inning type pitchers anyway and give you a nice style change. I'm still not sure Cox is ready and Woodruff is all messed up right now. Would still like to keep R Mitchell available to bridge from our starter to Bracewell/Holder time in the first 2 games.

Will Cox should start. He is stretched out and has plenty of experience starting.

If he can't get it done give it to Pollo.

Matthew Stevens just tweeted that Cohen said it would be Pollo or Will Cox.

Cox is starting tomorrow, so it likely won't be him

Actually, I bet tomorrow is more of an audition for Cox. Throw 5 solid innings on Tuesday and you are plenty good to go on Sunday.
I guess we'll know for sure if Pollo doesn't throw before Sunday.

If Cohen has intentions of starting Cox on Sunday he wont let him throw more than 3.

I would say Ross Mitchell if I had to pick someone for Sunday.
