I usually tape games and start watching an hour or so later so I can fast forward through commercials, halftime, etc. The game last night was so boring the fast forwarded the second half...I don't see us going far with this team unless the rest are pretty bad.

Howland is known to be a good recruiter, but 3 of the starting five are legacy players, who I guess came to state regardless of who was head coach. Without those 3.....well, not so great. May be worse than the football team.

Reggie Perry was committed to Arkansas, Woodard was considered an Alabama lean, and Carter probably comes regardless. But yeah keep telling yourself that Howland can't recruit.

Why? Was it the domination of a terrible team? Or was it the 3-0 start?

Lol nah this is a top 5 SEC Team. The SEC is much weaker in Basketball.

Recruited who? Besides those three the bench is weak.

3-0 start against.....what, potential top 100 teams.

Would be very happy to be very wrong about this season....

But the real story apppears here.....

quote:

Thomasville power forward Reggie Perry, a 5-star recruit who recently decommitted from Arkansas, has committed to Mississippi State, according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.

Perry made the news official in a video shared by FanRag Sports:

"He wanted to follow in his father's footsteps, as he has so much respect for him," Perry's mother told Evan Daniels of Scout.com. "Plus we can get up there and see him play."

His father, Al Perry, played for the Bulldogs in the 1970s.

"Unfortunately, I had to decommit tonight with Coach [Anderson] because of personal health issues with my father," Perry said after pulling his commitment from Arkansas on July 5, per Daniels. "I have to do what is best for me and my family."

He was committed to Arkansas.

And we flipped him. He wasn't going to flip if the coach was Rick Ray or another incompetent coach.

So yeah thanks to Howland, we were able to get a player who was going to go to a rival SEC school.

We have a chance to be elite defensively, and if we can hit the 3s like we did today against Tulane, this might be a better team than last year.

I was pleased with our shooting today, but we have to a better job preventing turnovers to beat Villanova.

Villanova concerns me. This is a Blueblood we are facing.

It wouldn't surprise me if we lose by 10-20.

I think if we win or lose by 10 or less without weatherspoon then that’s a good sign
