I started this exact thread on the BearRant. Feel free to post in either. I don't know who all has access over there, so whatever.

I think this needs to happen. I don't know how many of you can play, but I'd like to get the ball rolling on this. I think it could be a lot of fun. I know a lot of us are living relatively close, so there's no reason it couldn't get pulled off. We can start small, and who knows, it might end up being something bigger down the road.

If you have suggestions for format, locations, etc. post them here as well. Hope you all had a happy new year.

Are we looking at a 4 man team scramble?

If we end up having a lot of people interested we might just have to go tournament stroke play...

Either way, I'm 110% down.

I played Ridgeway CC over the summer, but the greens were being aerated. I really liked the layout. I hit all but one GIR, and shot a 78 because my putting was so awful with the greens like they were.

Yeah I liked that place. We used to belong there until my parents moved and joined Spring Creek.

I've never shot a 78 or below on a course not named Audubon Park.

It's a public golf course here.

No water. 350 yard par 5's. Hobos selling golf balls. Hippies getting blazed in trees.

Sportsman's Paradise.

I don't have room on my biceps for another tattoo. Maybe I can get it on my stomach right below the "Go To Hell Ole Miss".

Sounds like Sonny Guy here in Jackson. It was a city course a few years back but I believe was bought out by an individual. It is sandwiched between Hughes Field and the Jackson Zoo, right in the heart of the hood. When I worked for the Sheriff's Dept my friends and I would get off work at 7am and go play 36 holes on the reg, for free. They let us play whenever we wanted because they like the added security.

Played Sonny Guy multiple times. It's not great but I've had plenty of fun there & it's dirt cheap. 2 other decent courses that won't break the bank in the metro are Bay Point (Brandon) and The Refuge (Flowood).

Yeah the guy that started doing that for cops is now here at Brookhaven Country Club. He was telling me how he somewhat cleaned that place up. We used to take big groups to Sonny Guy when when I lived up there when we just wanted to get wasted all day.

We should set up the golf thing in starkville the morning of super bulldog weekend saturday baseball game. I know y'all won't do that early probably. Just throwing an idea out.

Once we get a hard date I'll work on a blackhawk flyover (if in the Stark / Jxn area)..

Other than that and/or an intoxicated cart driver, I have nothing to offer.

Sounds awesome. But it can't be a sportsman's paradise with no water. How's a guy supposed to frog gig with a sharpened driver shaft?

I would be down for this even though I haven't picked up the sticks in 3 years. Hell, I seem to play better when I come back fresh.
