You do know there are different recruiting services out there don't you?

No, I don't think he does.

ChargerDawg what do you think is the problem with our poor shooting % as a team this year???
We are shooting 38% from the field and 24% from three.

1. Because we are outmanned and short. Our guys don't get a whole lot of open looks.
2. Lack of talent, young.

I'd say it has more to do with younger kids and just taking bad shots. Jalen Steele being out hurts. Colin Borchert could very well end up being our best 3 shooter. Fred and "Chicken" will get better. Just growing pains is what I would sum it up Bundy.

I'm not Chargerdog- but damn Bundy, you don't think that having true freshman starting and playing 30+ minutes a game might have a little something to do with it?

If you are a D1 college basketball player you should be able to knock down open shots and we had plenty vs Providence's 2-3 zone.
Sword is shooting 26% from the field. I know he's a FR but that's something that needs to improve as the season goes along.
Coach if you watched the Providence game we started off 0-18 from three. I don't care if you are a FR or SR we have to improve our 3 point shooting.
We got spoiled with great shooters like Ravern, Barry, Hansbrough, Frazier, Powers, etc.
We need to recruit a true shooter. You have to admit Stans always had some zone busters.
Our 3pt shooting has been bad, bad, bad. I love the hustle, fight, and defensive intensity but we need some shooters and a big who can score in the paint.

Frustration.
We knock down 2 threes its a different game.

As I stated Bundy. The three's will start falling as the season goes on and Fred and "Chicken" mature.

Jamont Gordon:
26% from 3 as a Fresh
34.7% from 3 as a Soph
Ravern Johnson:
29% from 3 as a Freshman
39% from 3 as a Soph
shall I continue Bundy?
**edited to add**- and both Thomas and Sword are Stansbury recruits- Ray can only do so much right now.

IJ Ready - Underrated bigtime.
Maurice Dunlap - likely a high 3* in his initial rankings, and a mid 4* before he gets out of highschool. He's the #2 player in Mississippi for 2014 by a wide margin.
Sure glad that dubmass Ray isn't OFFERING or TRYING to recruit blue chip talent!!1!1

I mean shite Bundy. The guy was put in a hopeless situation to begin with. On top of that he lost the better half of his team to injury. He is a great coach when it comes to x's and o's and discipline. Our players are playing their asses off. If he can successfully recruit some guys then we will be damn good in 2-3 years.

Recruiting will be the key.
If Ray learns to recruit like most SEC coaches we will be able to get blue chip recruits, if he doesn't hell be fired in 3 years.

So you're going to judge this guy when he got hired 10 days before signing day and hasn't gotten any bigtime recruits 7 games into the season? How the hell do you know who and who not Rick offered?
No I judge him on his performance. I think he did a poor job on reselling MSU to the players we had.
I judge him on what he has said.

but it is way to early to say "He's not the guy because he said something else is more important than recruiting".
LOL! he didn't say something else was more important than recruiting.. He said he was not going to spend time on big recruits because they would not get them anyway.
Something very wrong in that that thinking.

our kids and playing their tails off, which is as much as anybody could ask with as much as we've got this year. Give the man a season or two before you start trying to bash him and realize we are not, nor ever will be, Kentucky.
I don't think I have stated our kids are not playing their butts off. So please don't put words in my mouth. In fact, I have not stated that Ray isn't coaching his butt off.
All I stated was what came out of his mouth and what his actions have been in relation to those words. I hope we have the guy that takes us to the NCAA..
Last, I hate the attitude of "we will never be"... Such BS!

Well please tell me wtf you think he should have been able to do so far in recruiting.
1- resell to the current players when he was hired! Great coaches and great recruiters find away to retain current talent.
2- Sign ranked talented players.
3- Offer talented players.
I laughed when a poster said "you do realize there are other recruiting sites out there", because most of what I posted from was not.. NOT scout. Yes I linked one portion of my post to scout. The rest came from ESPN and more.
You don't get to PICK and choose which one agrees with you.
The fact is, until his actions show otherwise, I have to take him at his word. That is he will not "WASTE" time going after big recruits because he won't land them. That's a defeatist attitude.
I don't want that for MSU. I want a Mullen type that says we WILL get the recruits we need.
At least friggin LIE to me!

hmmm.. Doesn't UK, Duke, UF...etc all have freshmen that have started and done very well??
