Oddly enough, LSU fans would've rejoiced if Fisher left in 2003. IIRC They were pretty happy when he left for FSU.

Yes some were and that's why jimbo publicly stated that he was interested. He was being harshly criticized.

I definitely remember thinking, "Thanks, but no thanks." when Jimbo's name surfaced.

I have UNA family. They love Hud, but they were pretty frustrated at the time that they couldn't quite get over the hump. Looking back, getting to that level wasn't so bad after all. Imagine how frustrated we would be losing in the semifinals. LOL.

Some people have magnetic personalities that people are drawn to. Freeze does, and so does Hud. People are talking about State possibly losing Hud to someone else but unless a Texas/USC comes calling (they won't) I can't see him not taking his dream job over any other.

I was actually hoping for Jimbo. One of the few times I have been right. We would have pulled far ahead in state with Jimbo vs Orgeron.

I just don't feel like Dan deserves the backlash he is getting.

With $2.6 million comes expectations. He has been talking championships since he got here. If we are young, it's his fault. If he slams himself for dumb play calls, then that's his fault. If we get out coached at half time, that's his fault. Should I go on?

I do. I had more fun watching Tyson Lee getting drilled completing 15 yd passes in 09 than I'm having this year.

Am I spoiled AL???

Yes! Go back to the last years of JWS and the Croom era.

That was painful.

Dan beats teams he's supposed to and can't beat the big boys.

I see zero evidence that says that Engie's man crush HUD could beat a top 25 team

Yeah, but we actually know that Mullen can't beat a good team.

My question for Diamondawg and his Cigar Boy contacts.

Do you really believe that Stricklin will make a move in regards to Dan if the money for the buyout is there?

That fricking pass Lee made to Marcus Green for a TD against LSU still brings a tear to my eye.

He played them close but LOST. How does losing close equal winning?

Getting fired and getting backlash are 2 very different things. But to answer your question; no - not this year.

I agree with you and feel that the only thing that changes this is if we lose our last 4 and get embarrassed at home in the egg bowl.

This.

Hopefully, staff evaluations will be made, and some changes are coming. There are a whole lot of young, good offensive minds out there. Let's give one of them a shot at the big time.
