Yeah because better players are the only ones who can execute a slant on an all out blitz on 3rd and 15 with 30seconds to go.

Stop being a bitch, despite the blitz there were not one but two DB's there to make the tackle and both whiffed due to poor angles taken.

Your right. They were shutting down the pass across the middle all night. Who knew they couldn't do it just one more time when it really counted.

We had stopped them 7 of 9 times on 3rd down blitzes. It wasn't a bad call.
I am fine with the blitz. I just wish we had dropped a lineman into coverage to take away the hot receiver. QB's rarely know where the frick that guy comes from. It's like he magically appears from thin air. If you don't see him, you get a pick or the ball batted down. If you do see him, you have to wait another tick for the receiver to clear, and he is no longer hot.

Agreed
We blitzed because we can not hold coverage for extended periods of time and our Dline could not get enough pressure otherwise, it gave us a punchers chance.
Swapping to a zone blitz with a DL dropping back after the TO may have been a better choice in retrospect

I was surprised State blitzed after the timeout. Of course, Grantham is playing mind games with Hurts, and Hurts guessed correctly.
We will see how Jordan Ta'amuu handles the blitz with 58,000 cowbells and screaming.

On the 3rd and 15, I was hoping that we would have shown the blitz and then dropped back w/3 man rush and a spy on Hurts. If they complete the pass for the first down, fine.
But I think it would have given him a different look as they knew it was coming. They made the play and we did not.
