I really like Mississippi State's Chances of winning an SEC title this year.

Here are the Contenders with SEC record and opponents remaining:

Arkansas - 17-7 Tenn and Fla

Tennessee - 17-7 Ark and Gamecocks

Vandy - 16-7 Ole Miss and KY

MSU - 16-8 Missouri and Bama

Florida - 15-9 Georgia and Ark

State has the easiest schedule remaining and have to sweep Missouri for this to set up for a last weekend showdown.

Gotta hope for a split between TN & AR - Whoever wins needs to drop one to give State a legit shot at the title. One of these two will drop 2 games this weekend.

Vandy - Leiter is he still out? If so, they could drop a couple and go 4-2. If they just drop one, then State would have to sweep both series. Not likely, Bama has been playing well lately. Vandy is still sitting pretty.

Fla - State would have to backup for them to get in the picture. That happens, no shot anyway.

It all starts tonight. State gotta sweeep Mizzou!

Of note-

Winner is by winning percentage. Vandys canceled game last week worked out essentially as a tie for them.

Also, the only tiebreakers are for tournament seeding. Assuming 2+ teams have the same SEC record, they will be co-champions.

Hail State!

Would be pretty bush league if we end up tied with Arkansas record wise and claim the co champion title after they swept our arse at home

It’s over now. Lemonis flubbing game 3 against South Carolina has is in low form for the season. Getting outhit by Mizzou twice in a row is embarrassing as it gets. These frickers need to get their head out of their asses. Just a pathetic performances 3 games in a row. And cumbest lolly-gagging his dumb arse out in left is totally unacceptable. Losing 2 of 3 is concerning considering we were fortunate to win last night. I’m pissed.

Lemonis has made some questionable decisions regarding pitchers lately too.

We have this deep talented bullpen and we aren’t utilizing its full potential, terrible timed pitching changes, using the wrong pitchers at the wrong time. It’s terribly mismanaged, and then constantly changing up the lineup this late in the year.

You can’t fire him because we have won a lot, but I feel we win on talent alone in spite of coaching

This weekend certainly sucked all the excitement out of the air. Hope we can get it going in the postseason.

With so much to play for, our guys laid a big turd this past weekend. Still, I'd rather them stumble and figure things out now instead of in the postseason.

Our best chance for Omaha is to win opening round and hope the region we are paired with has an upset, some 3 or 4 seed.

I agree. This is good, really good team and has great pitching depth but they are not dominate.

They have a dominate closer in Sims that pitches 30 pitches a week. That may change in the playoffs.

They give way to many free bases to walks and errors for me to expect a deep run to and through Omaha.

But, they can beat anyone on a given day or series. I believe too, so I will watching.

We’re certainly built to make a deep run, given our depth of arms. The question will be if we can hit and field. Anything less than Omaha for this team would be disappointing

We seem to field just fine when we play quality opponents but like at Mizzou we sleep walk through it.

I expect we will be focused in post season. I think we tend to get a case of arrogance and “we are too good to play them”

Our bats are a toss up. That will determine whether we go far or not
