quote:

It is easy to see he is excited about getting his wish of being a full-time defensive end. He said when Dline coach David Turner first approached him about the move, Jones thought he was joking at first. He said Turner told him he had to learn all the plays first before they trusted him playing full-time at defensive end and Jones said he spent overtime working on that playbook. He said he continues to keep his quickness at 305 pounds so that isn't an issue for him. And in typical Chris Jones fashion, once Turner told him the news, Jones told Turner it was the best coaching decision of his coaching career.

Snagging this from another post. Didn't realize he had moved full time to DE. This is terrible news for O-Lines everywhere. Absolutely not even fair he is that fast and that big. Chris Jones and Preston Smith coming off the end, pocket instantly transformed into a sandwich.

Also, seeing the rumblings again that we may finally have white 100 year unis. Going to be fricking fly as hell if they actually pulled it off.

I guess Turner is confident that our other guys have progressed enough to hold up the interior line. Our pass rush is gonna get better, that's for sure.

Crazy because we already lead the SEC in sacks/game. He literally can't be blocked by a single person on the edge for more than a few seconds. Huge advantage when you consider Preston on the opposite end and that they are going to rely on young guys to help out blocking instead of being able to rely on Yeldon.

I noticed for some drives earlier in the season we'd actually swap Chris outside and put Preston inside. Maybe it was just the inferior competition, but this usually resulted in a more favorable matchup for Preston - he was just too damn quick for the C or G he was up against.

Package deal with Javon. He's just waiting until Javon announces so he can make it official.

I can't wait to see Jones back at DE. And hate to tell ya but I'm not buying the white 100 years Anniversary rumors anymore. It just aint gone happen & we've gotta sadly accept it.

I, personally, think we will see a totally different defensive mind set from Collins.

There will be no 1a subbed in by 1b.

quote:

"Statistically, we had 22 plays with 1Bs and 50 something plays with 1As on the field and then some mixing and matching on other plays," Mullen said. "But in those 22 plays the 1Bs gave up more yards and double the points than the 1A's did in twice as many plays."

For this game, I think we see a super 1a unit with substitutions like every other team in the country.
