He'll be the first taken from this class. If we only lose 3 total in this class, then it will be a success.

Expected Pickett to be a first rounder at least. Good chance we may keep him now and Austin Riley isn't impossible to convince because he has about 3 teammates coming to Starkville next year. I figure we lose 2 which would be really nice.

The only silver lining to this is that he will be in the Braves organization.

There's a small chance I guess, but nothing more.

I really wish the Braves had taken Pickett wiht that 41st pick instead. Pickett really wants to go pro so we likely lose him anyway if he stays in the Top 10 rounds. Had Riley slipped to 3rd or 4th round type money where he was projected then there was a pretty decent chance we could have kept him.

rounds 2 and 3 have gone by. No future dawgs taken. I'm afraid rounds 5-10 are gonna slaughter us. Money starts falling off pretty hard after the 5th round though.

Padgett has announced on twitter he is coming.

Gene said on twitter that Fenter turned down a bunch of teams offering him 3rd round money.

Pickett still hasn't been drafted through 6. All in all looking pretty good at the moment.

Fenter just went in the 7th, pick 223, where the slot value is around 178k

If the reports about him turning down 3rd round money is true he's definitely not taking 178k

No doubt. What a fricking tool. That shite pissed me off last night when I read his "Fenter and family are seriously considering Baltimore's offer" tweet.

Nate Lowe is still coming in with some power but you are correct that we really had one HS power bat that we had legitimate hope in getting (Riley) and he got money he couldn't turn down. Pickett was never going to come unless he just went undrafted. Heck, he fell from the 1st to the 8th round in the 2 months prior to the draft and it still only took him 24 hours to sign his pro contract. Still keeping my fingers crossed on Fenter although the odds are stacked against us keeping him.
