Well I think Gene was the big guy for a long while...so I am sure his subscription base was huge.

Yeah, if Mullen doesn't have a really good 2015 class, that's probably going to end up costing him his job.

It's truly amazing that these guys can still make a living. I can't imagine what they were pulling in during the Sherrill days. Gene must have been making a few hundred grand a year.
Mean Gene still pulls in 6 figs a year.

Serious talk for a second though, genespage is the worst name ever for a sports site.

Gene's Page is called that bc that was the term for his one page Skuttle-butt bulletin board news published on the web. It wasn't a message board per say but more like a comment section. Then he went to a meassage board style about '99. He was the only State guy giving recruiting info on the web. I think the first time I found it was maybe '98. He's kept the name from way back then. There was nobody else until Rivals Bulldog Blitz and that was around '01 I think. I can't really remember when exactly Gene went to Scout but pretty sure it was '02. I can remember posting on the old Genes Page during 9/11. But by '03 the he was Scout and the Sixpack broke away.
I know he was an accountant and did Gene's Page for fun. I think when he went Scout he went fulltime ti his website. You can mock him and even I do, but honestly, he was pretty quick about jumping on the internet wave and turning his hobby into money making.

Oh for sure, getting in on it that early was a great move.
Back on recruiting, has anyone read anything recent on Griffin?

I don't see it quite that extremely.
The 2015 class is going to be a really good one unless he goes full retard. Tony Hughes is kicking arse and taking names for that class, which naturally means he will leave for another job in Dec and have a 2011 scenario all over again.
We've just got to kill it at DT and OT in the next class. Fletcher Adams is an absolute must-have(despite what he's saying in enjoying the process right now, it would take a monumental f up for us to lose him). He's key to a couple of other guys as well.
We will probably get in trouble again after the 2015 class honestly...

True...maybe we will have a breakout 2010 season next year and turn some big recruits heads.

Paul say 30-40% on Griffin
Posted on 2/4/14 at 12:36 pm to MSU4ever
20% of signing Griffin if that.

Agree to disagree
I guess we will see early tomorrow morning

49.987% of signing Griffin. I don't have a clue what he will do but since everyone else was throwing out random percentages I thought I would too.

Robertson just posted that Griffin is signing with Arizona.

At least we will flip Pack.

Anyone notice the trend here? Every fricking year with the exception of 2012(and we had no resistance with Nutt not recruiting), it's the same goddamn thing. We have four or five guys every recruiting cycle that we're "IN" on, and depend on to put the class into top 20-25 status that we end up losing out on during official visit and in home visit time.
And you know who earns their money during in homes ? The head coach. Say what you want but the criticisms on Mullen's personality not meshing well with a lot of people looks to be spot on.
