Not sure why you are getting so upset.
You said this...
We are just bitching about the current recruiting. If it gets better, we won't bitch as much.

With that said, should we be content with our current recruiting? NO.

I'm not upset
Saying that we shouldn't be content is one thing, completely discrediting what the man has done to this point is another.

I think what's frustrating is that while it seemed as though Mullen had turned a corner with last year's class, he's using this year's class to prove that theory wrong with the quickness.

I just don't agree with this. Come February I may, but as of right now, July.... I don't.

think im with DD on this one. This year's class is pretty much the same as last year's class. They took some "solid" guys during the summer (Hammond, Christy, Wells etc), took a couple head-scratchers (Dez Harris,Simpson and Ulric Jones - JUCO, C Jones - we know the story) and closed late with some studs (Shumpert, Cox, Ross)
This class looks almost exactly the same just different positions
Solid: Lee, Durr, Harris, etc
Head Scratcher: Price and Johnson (JUCO guys who aren't studs fall in this category to me), Fitz
Hope to close: Aeris, Green, Jackson, etc
It just so happened the "stars" aligned last year and some questionable takes were rated/performed much better than we expected and got late BCS offers

He may be using sarcasm, but it is exactly how he and many of our fans feel. We want to support Mullen and most of us think he is a good coach. But when other people come into equal or less programs and do much better in recruiting in their first year, that's not a good sign. We know it's hard to get things done here sometimes but that doesn't mean we can't be real about it.

The frick are you talking about? I was being 100% serious. The poster I replied to is talking about how good Mullen's recruiting will be once he gets the staff he wants in place. Don't you think he should have the fricking coaching staff he wants in place by year 5?

Kentucky is making Dan look like a real a-hole right now and the only special thing they're doing is putting in a shite ton of work.

Yes, im sure everyone would agree with that, except coaching hires are more about coaches being available at the time we have openeings. We don't have the brand name or money to snatch another teams successful coach.

this x100
They are doing this shite in a state with less talent, with less recent success, more apathetic fans, and they are doing it in year ONE.
Freeze, an in-state and division rival, did it in year one. Kentucky, a permanent opponent, is doing it in year one. Mullen isn't doing it yet in year five.
That doesn't mean we are no longer supporting Mullen. Just stating the obvious.

I hate to go here because there is obviously nothing we can do about it but I am one who 100% thinks our compliance department fricks us.
Do we think Mr. Freezus is doing it all by himself up there? Hell-motherfrickin-NAW. He has help behind the scenes and no one can tell. So Dan is doing just ok with one hand tied behind his back.

They literally have two players rated higher than we do. In JULY. Lets see where they finish.
This hire is the most excitement Kentucky has seen in football in what, 100 years? I think between Bumphis and Russell we had this same class...

Wrong
This class for Kentucky is on the same timeline for us as 2010 was, which was a pretty horrible class all around.

I would like to see a reranking of our 2013 class without Gray and Sandberg. I'm not sure what other schools lost, but it is possible we fall out of the top 30.

Easily.
Going by 247 Composite rankings, Gray was y'all's 4th best recruit and Sandberg was y'all's 7th.
That would be like Ole Miss losing Treadwell / Connor and Golson. The ranking would take a huge hit.

Oh well, we are just going to beat their arse for the 5th straight year.
