Yep, those two are definitely UK obsessed. I guess they just transpose KU to UK.

Anyone that talks about him as a "lock" is a fool. More and more indications are that it's UK at the end of the day, but it won't be a "lock" until this afternoon. I think Mizzou did everything they could to make it interesting, which is all I could ask for. If he chooses UK or somewhere else, it is what it is.

Yeah, you never know what these kids will do, having his father play at Missouri would be a really compelling argument for them, but kids don't always want to follow in their father's footsteps.

These kinds of things always remind me of Terrence Jones, committed for the cameras then changed his mind.

Some kids do. Some don't. Like you said, ya just never know. And Melvin isn't pushing him to Mizzou. Wish he was, but by all accounts he's not.

I will say I have found it funny watching some of the over the top people complain about how where Booker's dad went to school shouldn't be a consideration but in the next breath say that Blackmon should choose UK because of his dad. At the end of the day it means something to some and not as much to others. Who knows.

ETA - And wasn't referring to posters here on the rant.

To me it is never a lock until they are on campus wearing the uniform for the first game.

Yep, if it doesn't apply to one, it doesn't apply to any.

reedus23, as a cool Mizzou poster I feel your pain so maybe the Tigers get another Booker Sr. and it all works out well for Missouri even if they did not get the kid.

Not pain. Disappointment but not pain. Congratulated you guys in the recruiting board but will do it here too. Congrats on Booker and good luck with Blackmon. Hope you get both.

Oh, and frick the B1G.

Gotta keep the SEC strong in basketball which means not just the bottom has to improve but the top has to keep doing what they're doing so I hope you guys get Blackmon too.

That was one of the exciting things about joining the SEC for me was getting to compete against Kentucky every year in BB.

There is no reason why this conference cant become one of the premier BB conferences in the country. I think we have some programs on the rise now. This conference will grow more competitive in the coming years which will be awesome.

The biggest things in this conference moving forward:

1. Capitalizing in the OOC schedule to build momentum.

2. Having more than just us and Florida consistently winning games and recruiting well.

3. Capitalizing in the dissolution of the Big East, who gobbled up far more bids then they ever should have.

It is cool to see some of the other fan bases start to get a little excited about BB. LSU,Bama,Arky Tenn and Ole Miss looking good. USCe will get better with Martin.

With Kentucky and Florida leading the way and hopefully Mizzou can push to get themselves in that conversation and the rest things are definitely looking good for the SEC. A strong SEC is good for all of us.

I still think its funny that some folks laughed about Mizzou BB in the SEC because the Big 12 was "so much better" and out program would suffer. Jokes on them now. SEC WILL be better than the Big 12 next year. Love me some irony.
