The only way it would turn into AL.com or the SECr is if the admins allowed it to become that kind of a free for all board. Seems like people are failing to understand that.

Yall need 3 before anything happens
AMM AU9893, Nortizzle, LCT, Ellitor, GenesChin?

Well, I am disappointed to say the least, but there are too many that have too much Plainsmen in them.

I think a big part of the problem is that a lot of posters seem to believe that the team boards are intended to be little extensions of the larger homer boards.
If I'm remembering correctly, the intent was to create a place where subject matter solely pertaining to a specific team could be discussed -- not just by that team's fans but by any who wished to legitimately participate in discussion about that team.
I don't even think it was originally intended that they would remain closed indefinitely. They certainly weren't meant to become the second coming of TideFans/ITAT/Hogville/TexAgs/etc.

in relation to the AU board I'd say its the large quantity of Bama fans that flame Auburn on the rant. So much so, that to some they are more visible than the ones who don't. just like with customer feedback you are going to remember a negative experience more than a positive one. And there are still a large number of ATPB'ers on the board as well. they[aub board folks] are afraid it will spill over to our board and they just don't even want to try it.
it's understandable in a sense. I get the feeling that it may open up a little closer to the season

And if it does become like AuburnEagle, The Bunker, ITAT, etc... I will no longer be apart of it, except for maybe the Auburn Recruiting Thread. The last thing we need is a bunch of shitty trolls, conspiracy theorists, and homers coming over form other sites. I can't stand it when posters call other posters Barners, Bammers, Gumps, Corndogs, Volunqueers, etc... It makes my skin crawl.

Around the bowl and down the hole; roll, turd, roll.

just because they have decided not to let people in, doesn't mean that's the direction it is headed. Yes, there is some group think on there, but no where near as much as the other you mentioned. I like the Auburn board, it's calm and somewhat respectful

I think a part of the problem is that people can't find, or are afraid to look for, a middle ground.

I disagree our Auburn Board is anywhere close to being like ITAT at all. Look they have their right to disagree and wish for the board stayed closed, but I am getting the feeling Ross may let a couple in as the season nears. I don't feel any ill will towards our fellow posters. I don't agree with their negative demeanor towards the idea, but I respect their right to vote how they wish.

I don't think it's so much that the SECr Auburn Board looks "like" ITAT (or any homer board), but that the closed mindset which could lead down that road seems to be taking root. That whole anti-outsiders thing.
Forgive me if I'm misinterpreting what you're saying, TTs.

Let's keep in mind what TT and Gene originally wanted. ~10 bama posters, including people like TreyA, which will never happen. They're trying to play it off like we shot down one good bama poster, which is not the case. So before you guys start claiming ITAT, re-read their original post, and you'll see why everyone was pissed off.

And what was the response? A compromise? Hardly. I read pretty much the entire thread.
When a compromise was suggested -- even as low as a small handful of posters -- it was met, more or less, with "NO BAMMERS!"
Guys, if we were that much oil and water, there's no way the two fanbases could coexist in the same state, much less the same message board.

Like I stated in that thread. Gene's been here a year, and TT will be banned by October. The majority of the board is happy the way it is, and it should not be changed because those two aren't happy with the SEC rant and recruiting board. Not our problem.

I don't see an issue with a short leash. If someone fricks up in the slightest they're gone. Seems pretty easy.

It's not hard to stay unbanned, it's just fun getting into banning territory.
