I had this thought in a wacked thread on SEC rant about UF being better with Trask vs Franks

If Trask was so good, why was he not starting? is a legit question.

Trask had his shot after the Mizzou game but got hurt during practice. Franks had the shoosh game against USC and did very well to finish the season. He won over his teammates and became the leader.

Franks 2017 54.6 comp % with a 113.3 rating.
First yr under Mullen 2018 58.4 comp % with a 143.3 rating
2nd year, year of Mullen Effect 2019 had a 76.1 comp % with a rating of 173.4

The 76.1 comp % is 8th in the Nation btw. But, yeah he hasnt improved any :eyeroll:

Thats all Im gonna say about it, the kid was playing better and the team was behind him. Sucks to see an injury like that but it is what it is.

Lets go kick Tenners arse Sat

Go Gators!!

I find it crazy that some fans think we are going to be better with Trask as the QB. I could understand Jones because he fits Mullen’s system. But Trask talent wise isn’t better then Franks at anything. Maybe has the it factor and Franks problem is all in his head. I think jones will be the starter before the Georgia game .

If Jones can get the passing game down better, his ability to take it to the house with his feet will definitely open up this offense. That said, right now I dont want him out there as the starter until he shows he’s ready for the job.

Unless we drop a few games then what the hell, may as well let him learn by playing and get him ready for next year

Yea..if we lose a few games go ahead and run with Jones for the long term..but right now we have everything to play for so if he isn't ready...keep him protected

Good game trask maybe next game try not to throw into double coverage twice and hold on to the ball when you get sacked please

If we had played any team with a pulse this would have been a loss

Mullen was asking for a lot of deep balls to see what he has with Trask, it was almost called from the snap that they were going deep. His turnovers came at decent times. One would have been a long field goal if it were a incompletion (maybe even had to punt, have to go look). That INT was basically a punt, so no harm, no foul.

The other play, Grimes had both hands on the ball and it just popped up into the other team's player, just bad luck but the game was already getting out of hand.

Considering he threw more yards in his first game as a starter than Feleipe in every game he's ever started at Florida -- this is a really good game. The mistakes are easily coachable now that he has the full attention of the staff.

I am sure that is what you would have said about Franks if he had that game . Haha your a joke . Your boy better get a lot better or he is going to get embarrassed against Auburn.

You claim Trask is better but all you do is make excuses for him. If you really thought he was better then you would be harder on him then Franks.

Yep, some of us are happy to be 4-0 with a blowout win over a hated rival. Some... well

Trask is better.

He had his first start ever and surpassed Franks' all-time career high.

I'm comfortable in saying that I'm far more willing to give Trask a few games to get in the rhythm -- because if he's this good without experience, imagine where he will be with a season under his belt.
