Don't come here and ask me what happened, rub it in my face or go after him. Trask is likely going to have bad games -- especially since he hasn't been getting the same attention over the last 7 years of his career.

The reason I was so harsh on Franks is because he was a starter in High School, he was a 4-star, he's started over 20 games, has been the starter for 2 years and to top it all off -- he had a piss poor attitude.

Support Trask the same way you supported Franks -- unconditionally.

For a KANG, that's irrelevant.

Judge Trask the same way you did Franks -

Just fkn with ya, Im just amused how youre getting out in front of this thing with your boy now the starter before we play the meat of the schedule. Im on the Trask train, but I cant promise you that others who put up with your constant bashing of Franks will be so quiet about it if Trask shits the bed.

So are you saying Franks is better then Trask ? You have wanted Trask to start for over a year and now that he is about to get his first start your making excuses.

You're asking us not to do what you did. I don't know?

Actually I won't and he will play badly at times. Just like Franks I'll hope for the best.

I know I asked you to tone it down and even made a post saying the sAme. Get behind the team whomever is starting. Criticize bad play but don't drive the few of us here crazy.

/Rant. Now lets hope for the team to gel in the next few weeks. I know I am.

Try it sometime. A lot less stress.

I'm gonna support the guy but at the same time, all of the things we were told about Trask, the Defense and the OL will be fresh on my mind if the narrative changes.

Lets review.
We were told the OL was just fine, and we were just running into stacked boxes due to Franks and that's why the running game suffered.
We were told the defense is very good, theyre just on the field too long or playing hopeless because of the ineptitude of the Franks led offense.

Go Trask, but all of these other things better shape up now. No excuses.. No pressure

If Trask was making his 20+ start and trash talking the stands, running around like an idiot and then putting the game on the line -- I would be with you guys in wanting Trask gone.

I just don't think we should immediately pretend that Trask deserves hatred when he's literally starting his first game in ~7 years against Tennessee, or really any team and starts to do poorly.

Franks has had shot, after shot, after shot.

Break, after break, after break.

Every QB should have a grace period of about 6 - 8 games to get things rocking and rolling.

Franks' grace period started in 2017 and still hasn't ended in 2019.

tl;dr

don't be retarded and throw context out of the window just because you want me to be wrong, Trask deserves support -- he's been nothing but an exemplary guy on and off the field so far.

I never said it was "just fine" as in perfect, there are tons of things we need to do better. What I said was that if we had a competent Quarterback we would be able to at least scheme around their deficiencies.

This is textbook football. Quarterbacks who pose very little downfield threat eventually get shut down (look at what happened to us in the third quarter) and the run game suffers. We were and have been running into stacked boxes, you can listen to it on the Gator Nation Podcast.

quote:

We were told the defense is very good

You were told that the defense will be very good if they're not on the field all game trying to make anything happen for the offense to do something.

playing hopeless because of the ineptitude of the Franks led offense.

I mean, you watched them immediately shut Kentucky down after Trask marched it down the field.

If that's not proof I'm not sure what is.

Go Trask

Go Gators.

No excuses.

There will be excuses and blame, there's plenty of it to go around. Trask isn't perfect, he isn't a great Quarterback, but I do think he is better than Franks.

I also think he will likely have a bad game coming up, because these things happen to everyone. However, I don't think he'll consistently have bad games.

Franks was also thrown out there day one last year in a completely new scheme and never got a pass from you as he was learning everything on the fly under fire and now you expect us to give Trask, who sat on the bench learning for over a year a 6-8 game leash without the same ridicule you gave Franks from the beginning?

Sounds fair. Like I said, I'm not gonna bash the guy. But your stances on this is beyond ridiculous

Franks and Trask have both been in the same scheme, same situations -- except Trask hasn't had the coaching staff's full attention for the last 4 years.

Every single excuse Franks had was bad, and really we as a fan base enabled his behavior on and off of the field.

There is literally zero excuse for a guy who has been starting for years with that much experience to basically be getting matched or beaten by a guy in the opposite situation. That should tell you more about Franks than it does Trask.

After all this debate over Franks and Trask for the past year, It'd be pretty fkn crazy if Emory came out in an intended package series and had a few good plays and just took over the job

I sincerely wouldn't mind seeing Emory getting the 3rd, 7th and 12th drives of the game considering the situation.

If only to make teams start to prepare for two different types of Quarterbacks. Most dual-systems don't work, but I feel like Emory and Trask would be good enough to do it.

Only thing is that Emory has looked extremely shaky.

May be a big reason Mullen mentioned it. Also may have said it to keep Emory from wavering.

Definitely looked rushed on his throws vs UTM. Hopefully a few package plays this week and maybe a half of play next week can get his confidence up

Lets step away from the pizzing match and talk about what is posted on the rant about that POS Kash Daniel trying to twist Trask's ankle on the bottom of the pile near the goal line. Trask immediately got up and said something to Daniels about it.

Frick these ridge runners, I hope we blast their asses good next year.
