I will support whoever the Gator QB is, unconditionally.

Look in the mirror before you ask this of others.

I can’t hold what Franks did in 2017 against him. That was an un-winnable situation for every player on the team.

I'll support him just like I did Franks, but this is hilarious

Emory fits Mullen’s offensive style better the the other 2 and has good talent like Franks . I would be shocked if Emory is not the starter before the year is over .

Lets step away from the pizzing match and talk about what is posted on the rant about that POS Kash Daniel trying to twist Trask's ankle on the bottom of the pile near the goal line. Trask immediately got up and said something to Daniels about it.

Frick these ridge runners, I hope we blast their asses good next year.

Pretty dirty, but we need those feet tested early. (T'is a joke). I hope Trask can learn to be more aggressive and more the "rah rah" type, unless, of course, he can be so good that he doesn't need to be.

Not sure on that. I think Trask is the better option with our strengths right now over Jones. We need to get the ball to play makers, and they are on the outside.

Until our line learns to run block, Jones is not as useful. We lose one on one battles at the line all game, so creating numbers by using the QB read doesn't really help if your numbers can't win the freaking battle.

So I don't think he starts this year unless we dramatically improve the run blocking, which then can take advantage of his main strength.

Next year is the year of Jones.

It's hilarious how almost all of you think that it's the exact same thing.

It explains why a lot of you were so supportive of Franks, to be quite honest.

Is Trask a better QB then Franks right now ? You have wanted him to start and now he is but your making excuses for him and he hasn’t even started a game yet.

I agree our OL can’t run block and that will effect Jones running the ball. But Jones has better raw talent then Trask as a passer and runner. Jones would make the defense have to worry about him running. I am fine with Trask starting but once we are out of contention for east or if we lose to Tennessee then Jones needs to be the starter .

Dude Trask is taking over the starting job a week after Franks . What did Franks have that Trask will not have to work with?

We trusted Mullen and felt like Franks was the best option at QB. Deep down even you know that Franks is better then Trask , that’s why you are making excuses for Trask already .

Nah, not even close.

I think Trask is twice as good a passer as Franks for now. I haven't seen enough yet to definitively say he is, but everything I have said for the past two years checks out.

You should go read my passing breakdown during the spring game a few years ago and watch how about everything I said was right.

He could be a bad Quarterback. I'm just trying to stop the endless amount of retardation that this forum is likely going to have for Trask's inevitable first turnover.

You guys see two Quarterbacks having a single bad game and automatically say: SEE, LAWRENCE ISN'T THAT GREAT.

TUA DIDN'T HAVE GREAT NUMBERS THIS WEEK. #EVERYQB.

Just like with Franks: Trask has to prove it to me that he's a good QB.

He may be just a serviceable QB, but that's all we've ever needed. Someone who doesn't turn the ball over, understands the game and can make accurate passes.

^ That is not the description of Franks.

The good news is that WE (Trask) have 2 supposedly good “tune up” games before we go against better D’s. Hopefully any major issues will be addressed before October 5th.

Exactly. The idea isn't that I'm saying Trask might burn out (it's certainly possible), it's just that he's literally starting a game when he probably didn't even think he'd get the chance deep down in his heart.

That being said: Tennessee is probably already on its way out the door and obviously Towson will be a cakewalk.

His first turnover (he doesn't have one yet) is still going to be a wait and see. We have no idea how he will react/how it will affect him. I just hope it comes sooner than later so he can get it behind him and get out there and play loose.

You mean you dont want ppl acting the way you have the past year when Franks had one? Got it

Yeah, sure.

Franks stands as #8 Nationally right now for completion % 76.1.

Last year Franks throws near a defender
Straws: That shouldve been a pick, God he sucks

Trask has thrown 3 balls that could have been picked off.
Straws: Trask doesnt turn the ball over

Be consistent, man. All im sayin. Im behind Trask as I said from the min he walked out there as the starter. But dont think for a second ppl in here are not gonna call you out if you dont judge him the same as you did Franks.

He’s had a year to sit and learn, a luxury Franks didn't have under this staff.

Go Gators! Go Trask

I think Straws has move his man crush to the new backup QB. There is not a gator fan more upset about Franks injury then Straws. He has wanted Trask to start 2 years now and has bashed Franks . Well now we are about to see if Trask can actually do . Now Straws will show his true colors when he doesn’t bash Trask every week that he is not perfect. Maybe Straws will get Lucky and Jones will actually start the Tennessee game and run away with the starting job.

Yep, he talked a lot but now its put up or shut up and he knows it. Thats why he’s getting ahead of it with his new threads.

Lol

Yes, Trask will make mistakes, he will struggle like any QB. But, the other guy never got a pass from Straws so neither should Trask. Stay consistent

I defended Franks a long time ago.

In fact, there was a post that Finch had from a few years ago where reel was chewing Franks out and none other than Straws was saying give him time.

That's all I'm saying with Trask. He needs time to get accustomed to the game, Franks has ah.

Had plenty of time.

26 starts, two years a starter, a starter in high school -- 4-star recruit.

Trask doesn't even have a full game of playing time, so my contention is: Give Trask some time, he's obviously going to have some trouble since he has only ever been in a live game one time.

It is not: Trask should be supported if he sucks really bad.

If Trask stinks it up I'll say it, but again context is more important than articles. Just because there are two QBs and both have bad games doesn't mean they're in the same circumstances.

He will likely have his first turnover against Tennessee, it will likely be bad, but don't start caricaturing me as if Trask and Franks have had the same careers.
