I bet the stadium is loaded when Kelly is announced before FSU.

Trust me, it will happen before then if it happens at all. I feel like every day a few of us have to tell people: It's coming, they just have to hammer a ton of shite out.

1. Big payment with a promise to stay put.

2. Who to retain on the staff (there are some damn fine coaches who were forced to suffer through a CEO McElwain).

3. Bounses (part of payment, but separate altogether for how many he will want).

That being said:

1. Stricklin has not outright denied that we're vetting/going for Kelly earlier in the week, a lot of us knew this before it happened.

2. Kelly has denied rumors vehemently in the past and squashed them at the moment they came out. He has not done it this time, and really if he wasn't the guy there would be no reason to keep ''going along with it''.

3. They would not issue a gag-order on false rumors, they would just denounce them. Since they have issued a gag-order and have not denounced, it's an obvious silent nod that it's happening.

And this isn't like: Oh, well if they outright announced that they're not pursuin/vetting/hiring Kelly, they would say the same thing. It's legit.

If Kelly is the guy in all likelihood we will know before Thanksgiving.

When Stricklin has crushed rumors they have been about the involvement of Foley or Spurrier in the process.

Yep, so it's not like he's afraid to stop rumors. And like I said: He wouldn't need a gag order if these things were untrue.

Because they know who it is. They've known who it is. They just want to announce it on their terms.

Or they're playing a very dangerous game of ''who wants to have their guts on pitchforks?''

The benefit of doubt for Stricklin will be gone at the least. I may buy sackStricklin.com and lease a plane for skywriting in the fall.

Norvell Norvell Norvell Norvell...

Oh the collective rage of Gator nation would be epic. FWIW, I figure at this point it's Kelly unless you guys won't give him what he wants (and one would have to imagine that you could back load the contract to literally whatever you want so that he's getting most of the 6M from the Niners to start).

If it's Norvell I'll just quit watching football for a while -- especially since Kelly has been all over the place.

It's 100% going to be Kelly unless there is some incredible stupidity at the negotiating table. Like, some really, really retarded things going on that makes Kelly walk away.

The fact is: No one is actively denying that Kelly is talking with Florida from either side, and they're all being very quiet in this regard.

They said that negotiations had soured, but I highly doubt it -- probably just some blustering going on, both trying to get what they can from the deal.

I think he wants a little more upfront and less in "bonuses". I think the deal is more his coaches. He wants his guys, UF needs to approve them.

I am sure we have no issue with Helfrich or Day(seems the two obvious candidates) for OC. The rumored DC on the list is the LB coach from Bama, who will cost a ton.

We shall see. Its clear the sides are talking. UAA has been dead silent, and the plane travel has made it obvious it's going on(UAA planes don't go to NJ, ever). Just bidding time now and crossing fingers.

If it's Norvell...Sticklin may be assassinated.

I don't like conspiracy theories very much, and I know that this is going to sound crazy, but...

I think that the University of Florida has people who try to shoehorn coaches into running specific types of offenses, and control the HCs for the most part.

I had heard that the deal had soured a little, and that Kelly wanted his guys so we're starting a vetting process -- but that has made me suspicious, really suspicious.

What IF we're stepping on toes, trying to control coaches? It can't be mere coincidence that the past two coaches, one offensive and one defensive have both called eerily similar offensive schemes.

It can't just be coincidence that Weis, Roper, Nussmeier and Pease all had, practically, the same playbook?

I'm really not trying to start anything, but it's just weird that we wouldn't say ''sure, bring your guys'', of course, outside of the fact that one of his staff members was to blame and not him directly -- I get it.

But if the deal should fall through the cracks because we didn't want Kelly to put his staff in place, it may speak volumes on the state of our football program, and we might actually have to prepare for Kiffin or Norvell.

No it's what happens when you have idiots who don't know how to hire people. Foley fricked us hard with his 3* spending and coach hire mentality for football. Hopefully Stricklin isn't that way.
