Will be billed as the Mullen Bowl. Cowbells will be ringing loud. Facing a team that just lost to UK and gave up lots of rushing yds (sound familiar?) and will be mad as hell.

BTW I hope Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun predicts a Gator lost...he predict something like a 27-9 UT win late last week, keep up the good work Robbie!

Moo State has a good DL and Simmons will be a high draft pick. Fitz is not a great thrower...but does run well. I think its hard to face a team with 1 SEC lost and have their backs to the wall. Their goal was to win the west.

It always boils down to running the ball...can we stop them from running and limit mistakes? OL needs to continue to improve. Franks had at least two passes he threw out of bounds on purpose because of pass rush and having to scramble.

I feel our DL can handle their run game as long as we keep them fresh. I noticed we kept Kyree Campbell at nose a long time last night...its a battle now between our DTs to get more snaps and the more stops they contribute...the more snaps. Grantham seems to be doing a pretty damn good job.

Having #33 back helped a lot with our defense. Those cowbells wont ring long if we set the tone early

I sure hope so. We have to score early and make them swallow their cowbells. I remember many yrs ago the SEC outlawed cowbells...guess that didn't work.

With MSU it’s simple. Stop the run and win the game.

I dont think they have any stud WRs, so we should be able to stack the box

We have guys emerging on the interior DL.. Gonna make it a long day

I think I'm going to suck it up and drive over there for the game. I HATE the damned cowbells, but watching that place deflate if we pull it off will be fantastic.

Just bring fried catfish dinners with you and you will make a lot of friends

BTW I tease unmercifully about catfish...but I love the natural beauty of middle Mississippi with its hunting, fishing, clean water and fresh air. My aunt n uncle lived in Meridian and I spent every summer there from age 9-14. My relatives had a huge amount of land and a great creek a short distance away with great fishing. My uncle loved Miss State and we would debate them vs Gators all the time. UF wasn't very good back then.

In southern part of the state aqua agriculture is big and pond raised fish produce $$$ Then you have Biloxi and another kind of cash crop

I grew up about 90 miles from Meridian near Jackson.

And tease all you want, I love catfish unashamedly. A helluvalot more than I like Mississippi State. Also, Belzoni would like to have a word with you about aquaculture being in the south of the state. Most of the catfish stuff is up there and further up in the Delta around Itta Bena.

Speaking of the Delta...home of Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Willie Dixon, Elmore James and a lot lot more. I have worked in recording studios before and loved blues music.
My favorite was Sonny Boy Williamson.

Fitz is not a downfield thrower or anything resembling a pocket passer. Any damage that he does through the air will be on broken plays outside the pocket where he can just streetball-style find an open man.

Will be critical that our backers not get over aggressive and leave their zones to stick a shoulder in his ribs.

What they do have is a pretty salty DL - two guys over 7 TFL already, and they are really good at 3rd down conversions - over 50% on the season while opposition i below 30%.

Will be a tough game for this team.

Benny Snell and the UK OL aren't walking through that door.

I'll probably watch the game today.

I think it's probably 50/50 right now. It's impossible to judge MSST on the road.

I would love to predict a UF victory...but hell I even felt UT would be all fired up for revenge on that last second hail mary from Franks to Tyrie Campbell. UT imploded...but before anyone takes that away from UF...remember that our defense forced mistakes...the safety was awesome. We came to play.

I actually like our roster over Cowbells...we have much much better skilled players and we do have some offensive linemen "capable" of handling the dawgs DL long enough to throw or to run. Our DL isn't shabby either and the LBers are showing what good coaching can do for a team. Raynard Jackson, Reese, Joseph ( I like him covering TEs and RBs ) K. Johnson, Moon at LB/DE are formiable.

What I have noticed is Andrew Chatfield has been MIA and may be r/sed (played against cupcake), ditto Jacob Copeland (maybe academics need attention?). I see others who haven't played much as true frosh and may be r/sed also, Malik Langham (injury?)
Dante Lang (may be on special teams?) Burney, Bleich, Gouriage, Jones? Banks (played early on against cupcake and ditto Huggins) Clement? I know one thing..Justin Watkins threw away a great opportunity.

Imo that game is different with CeCe and Reese but it is what it is. Lots of their plays were stopped but missed tackles killed us. 1 of their tds came from a LB not wrapping up and letting the QB spin away for a wide open wr.

I pray we don't get Beth Mowins for our broadcast...will mute and listen to Mick Hubert then. That shrill voice just annoys me to drink.

Bold? That aint bold...Fitz isn't a good passer period. But he can run and has the size to do it. We have to get negative plays on defense and force them into passing downs.
First down is always a key...stop them for short yd or two and then you have them second guessing whether to throw or run. But dropping back to pass for them doesn't mean throwing...most of the time Fitz runs from drop backs.
