Bold? That aint bold...Fitz isn't a good passer period.

Yeah he's more of an RB playing QB.

That being said: We need to use what tricks we have in the bag for this weekend if we want to win. No way we line up and run it down their throats, we may be able to pass (their reporters have said that they're weak in the secondary) but we will need to take as much pressure off of the OL and QB as humanly possible to have a chance. We need points and first downs this game.

We have averaged low snap counts in our games and there is a reason for that. We have been given short fields a lot by our defense and special teams. Townsend is a real weapon and can flip fields and also pin teams deep inside their 20 yd line. MSU will be conservative on offense, they, much like LSU, depend on defense to win games.

The one thing Ive noticed (especially in the UK game) is that Simmons and Sweat get physically tired easily when double teamed...especially big boy Simmons..his stamina is limited. He will be double teamed by us a LOT if he is a threat to the playcall. This is a game where we need the OL to execute and not miss assignments. A sack gets the damn cowbells ringing loud.

Our offense has to have short memories..if we have a bad play cant let the crowd and emotions get to you and just have to execute the next play. Going to be interesting to watch the game and see how well we handle their crowd and fever pitch emotions.

I had this game pegged as a loss way back in the summer, but since the team has developed under Mullen and the much better coaching, now I am not going to automatically write this game off. We have a lot of skill players. Id love to see Pierce get the ball and break loose early...but Scarlett is our best blocker. The key is to make the crowd quiet early.

Bold prediction, Franks has better passing stats than Fitz on Saturday night!!!

Really going out on a limb

Fitz is only dangerous running the ball and making plays when the original play breaks down. If the UF ol protects well enough you guys should roll. I'm not sure though because they do have a pretty solid dl.

Got my tickets and been listening to Orange and Blue all day. The girl is an Ole Miss alumnae, but I'm trying to indoctrinate her.

So damned stoked for tomorrow! Last game I went to was Arkansas a couple of years ago. As long as it doesn't end up that terrible, it will be great to get to see the Gators play in person again.

I've got some Florida swag for her.

And for god's sake, lay off catfish, lol. On the list of things that make life worth living:

1. Little Richard
2. Redheads
3. Apalachicola Oysters
4. Thin Fried Catfish

You gotta back off this, my man.

I love catfish...but it is easy to tease Mississippi State fans about it. I tease UT fans on the rant constantly calling them hillbillies living in singlewides...but I travelled through back roads in Tennessee in the early 1960s with my mom and sister. We broke down in Etowah(sp) up in the mountains because I kept pestering my mom that I wanted to catch rainbow trout in the streams up there. I was 13 then.

We met some of the nicest folks you would ever want to meet up there...I went on foot to try and get help for our car which was stuck in mud..an elderly couple in their 80s picked me up (in their 1940 Ford) and drove me to town and a gas station attendant went with me to help, my mom and sister walked and found a farm and the family invited ALL of us to a wonderful Saturday lunch southern style. So I am only joking when I razz rivals.

Don't take catfish seriously.

Franks 2 - 2 on short passes, taking the easier passes.

Cyontai Lewis... why does he play so much again? Can't block. That was his first catch on the year... because he's dropped like 3 others.

We really don't have a better TE right now?

Definitely need a new TE. No idea why the younger guys still aren't getting snaps -- or Krull.

The offensive gameplan for Franks is infinitely better than our gameplan for Kentucky. Like I've said all year: Keep it simple for him and he will shine.

Penalties are from the bullshite cowbells.

Cyontai completely whiffed a block on DE causing Franks to be sacked. Damn damn damn. We have to protect just a second longer and try to loosen up their defense with a bomb.

The short passing game makes it hard to march down the field when your OL isn't blocking enough. Takes too many snaps and the more snaps the more chances of mistakes.

I guarantee when I break this game down it won't be the short game that hurt us, it will definitely be the longer, less % passes.

He's had some good ones, but that throw to the defense at the end of the half is a confidence killer for a coach.

Bubble Screens for the win.

We can beat anyone on our schedule. Winning @ MSST is harder than people realize.

That game was called exactly how I've been thinking Mullen should call the offense for a while now.

13 points isn't going to win you a lot of games, but they controlled the ball and let the defense win it.

Good game.

That's exactly what I've been saying -- we run that same offense vs. Kentucky and we're undefeated right now. Keep the short passes, move the ball down the field, give our depleted defense some free breaks, let them have some snacks, and we'll win.

This is a very, very good win.

A lot of folks don't realize what our team was up against, a mentally stupid zebra squad and a targeting call that was pure bullshite from upstairs. Dean barely tapped him and he had muffed a damn punt. Kudos to CJ McWilliams and Shawn Davis. I noticed they stayed away from CJ Henderson.

Even on TV my ears were hurting from cowbells.

That secondary play is improving every week.

And they were noticeably better IMO with Davis and McWilliams back in the lineup.
