With Driskel back and Grier coming in I don't blame the kid and wish him the best of luck.

I don't know. It's not good to play with basically 2 QBs (one being a freshman). We did it this year and I was constantly worried about our primary QB getting hurt (which he did a couple times this season).

Do y'all think UF will grab a JUCO QB just for depth purposes?

Best of luck to Tyler. I think with a decent oline he could have excelled at UF.

JD is always hurt.
This is not good.

So was this completely out of the blue, or were there some signs that he wanted to get out? This seems really odd.

UF will take another QB right before NSD. A pretty good one.

So y'all will have 2 QBs in this class? Is the second one going to be more of a dual-threat QB?

Will Grier is dual threat enough.

Second guy could very well be Chase Litton.

The couple of clips I found of him look good. Hopefully he'll get to redshirt so he can add some good weight

I agree. He is much better than having Staver, who most thought was a reach anyway.

Pease had some questionable takes at QB, Mornhinweg, Staver, and UF got Grier this year, but WM played a heavy hand in his recruitment. Pease thought everyone was Kellen Moore, apparently.

Mornhinweg
I was pretty surprised when y'all took Skyler. Had he been a local kid, that would have made it more understandable. Always wondered if his dad was partially the reason.

Grier will be a stud though. Your future OC has to be excited about coaching that kid.

If we were counting on Tyler Murphy to save the day next season, or to even see the field as a QB, then we are in worse shape than i can imagine and i have a vivid imagination.

I've never heard of Grier and have no idea who he is...is there any chance he'll challenge JD for meangingful snaps?

I know JD has been maligned through his career, but still he's got SEC experience and seems like the leader in the clubhouse until proven otherwise. What kind of player is Grier?

Grier is either the 2nd or 3rd ranked QB according to 247 I think.

He needs to RS to gain some weight. I don't think he'll be competing with JD. He's already stated he'll be fine RSing.

However, this sucks because if JD gets hurt again we'll have to burn his RS. We are going to recruit two QBs this cycle now though.

What kind of quarterback is he? Can you compare him to another UF qb since 2000?

Sorry. I can't. I don't watch recruit videos. I've read that he can run the spread but he's listed as a pro-set QB. I have no idea what his HS runs.

Here's some of his senior highlights. Strong arm, can move in the pocket, nice touch, decently elusive...should be really good in a spread offense. A redshirt would be incredibly valuable for him though.

In all honesty he kind of reminds me of Aaron Murray.
