The thing I like about sumrall versus Mac, Mullen and Slingblade

Is that he’s had two different coaching jobs.

Then again, so did butch jones, but sometimes I wonder if Mac, Mullen, and definitely Billy felt like what they did where they were before they got here will lead to success here. The same attitudes and approaches, etc.

Mullen was known for checking out often at state which cost them games. He got away with it because it was State but he found out quick that Florida wouldn’t tolerate that garbage.

And Mac, well Mac fricked a shark and was a weird dude. I didn’t even pay attention to him at all when he was in Ft Collins so I didn’t know what to expect (certainly didn’t expect a shark fricking photo).

But sumrall, like Urban (BG to Utah) , started at a really small g5 and moved up to a slightly bigger program and league. He’s already had a taste of having to adjust, and at least has some experience navigating going through such a change, even if the change from Tulane to here is way more dramatic than Troy to Tulane.
