Ah, TJ, now you wanna be a Gator fan, welcome back, dude.
First it's: Michigan is doing so much better lolollol! They're playing real football.
Then it's: We lost to Arkansas smdh, we're the worst team ever, fire everyone!
Then it's: Michigan lost to 6 - 4 Iowa, what a team!!
Finally it's: We beat an average LSU, Go Gators!!!!11!
And man, stats to me are absolutely pointless outside of context.

Easy Straw...at least he is being factual to a degree. I love all and I mean ALL Gator fans even if I disagree with em at times. I come across so many Gator fans during the course of everyday activities...in Publix, restaurants and in parking lots.
Thats one reason I toned myself down some with the tigahs and especially DBU who I hated coming on this board and calling us cupcakes....that burnt my shorts...but he stood up and stayed on the Scoreboard right after the game when other tigahs didnt...had to tip my hat to him for that. Pride is a tough pill to swallow and even as much as I am such an optimist...it would be hard for me to weather that shitstorm if the shoe fit me.
We definitely proved our point....but its kinda sad to see LSU & A&M fans barely talking smack now...the tigahs had their hearts ripped out. Of course they brought it on themselves, but I know the pain they are feeling.
Ok....back to the Florida State College for Women, that liberl arts school that grand dads and great grand dads used to travel from Gainesville for a weekend visit to hopefully get laid....all women until 1947...year I was born btw. That infamous college for clowns. and one of the biggest asswipes was Sebastian Janikowski the fricking Pole who was a thug creep...will never forget his premature chomp celebration near the end zone when he kicked a FG to put the clowns by 4 pts in 1997. Of course Doug threw that 63 yd strike to Jacquez and sent them bastards home losing their # 1 ranking.
The stats are nice and everything TJ....but we have played in the SEC not the acc and you do have to consider that...although overall your stats show an edge for us in defense,
We can stop Cook just like other RBs...just have to play sound defense. Reese is going to be special and I love Joseph's explosive hit on Eitling. Even without Washington we still have talent in our two CBs and Marcell Harris has really come on lately as a jr...then we have Dawson and Gardner. Putu is being redshirted as a CB. We have the edge on special teams where so many games are won or lost.
No turnovers..we win...its that simple.

I've always rooted for the Gators. I can root for them and dislike Foleys,Zooks,Macs, and WM decisions and their ability to lead or not football to national titles. Luckily you don't determine the criteria or have a monopoly on the idea of what a real fan is. Let me help you with context because you don't understand it pertaining to my OP.
The game of football requires players, officials, agreed upon rules and regulations. They play games and yards and points are tabulated, and injuries are noted. Professionals then take these points and yards and break them down into categories and assign them #s and ratings. The best teams that win the most games usually have great ratings not only in game statistics, but schedule, and recruiting. This has been backed up by plenty of field experts and NC hardware and player awards.
Let me ask you what is the proper context the rest of us in the CFB world don't get but only you do? what context are these stats supposed to be placed in? Are we supposed to include asterisks and hypothetical standings because of injury or poor recruiting? Is UT supposed to get an East title because of mass injuries or the SCAR game didn't count because of the Hurd drama? That the LSU game wasn't a top 25 win or they should be #1 instead where They are because they didn't have their best HC and best player at 100? That UMass really isn't 2-9?
Do you tell your boss that he's wrong because the mistake you made isn't in context or that your grade in college was different than the one they gave you because they didn't understand the context of your work?

Grades? I loved some years and not others because of the ability that the teachers had to keep my attention. Loved several instructors who could paint a portrait and make the class feel like they were there. History was appealing and math wasnt.
Stats go out the window when a team has the desire and "want to" as our team did this past weekend if talent is somewhat close in nature. Coach Mac and staff deserve the credit and I hope you will see soon that Mac is a damn good coach and this is his second year.
Mac's post game presser was classic...he had bottled up emotions and some of it came out. He did put emphasis on the players forgetting clutter and the last play and making the next play "now". That hit by Joseph at the one yd line was not only explosive....but a real teaching point to prove on film what happens when you dont give up on a play...even when things appear dim.
This is what I like about Mac. He teaches things in a subtle way and yet it is just as effective or more so than hitting them over the head with a hammer. But since he isnt as demonstrative as some coaches, a lot of Gator fans have not been sold on his abilities yet. The game on Saturday I believe is a defining moment to start the shift to recognize him as a leader.
Recruiting? I could care less if we never sign another 5 star rated prospect if he develops the hell out of 3 stars that he feels will help the program. I just think he has been undervalued and we better start appreciating him or some other school will show him the love. He has two more years now to prove his worth and he doesnt have to show me anything.
Yeah...I am optimistic to a fault. But why be debbie downer if it serves no real purpose? Feeling good is better than feeling bad...no? I will start 2017 by predicting 11-1 ...hows that for a start?

Here we go...
I don't understand why we have a constant issue between TJ and others. Let's avoid starting fires in every thread, if TJ hasn't provoked them. It creates an argument in each thread. TJ, try a different delivery besides the "I told you so" stuff.

I posted a thread on stats and didn't say I told you so to anyone. I replied to Straws smartass comment with one in kind and a legitimate question. What's the context that most everyone else Is not seeing? I guess I won't post stats anymore because it hurts people's feelings.

This has to change if UF is going to beat FSU. LSU was one of the best RZ offenses before the UF game.

I certainly wasnt bothered by TJs stats sheet...have no issue with it at all. Would like everyone to appreciate Mac and realize we have a gem....but thats my opinion...I just dont like constant negavity...thats all. And I think TJ cant find too much fault with Saturday.
As far as the girls school...I have a few co workers that I trade barbs with and its all in fun. One said today he would watch the game beginning to end and would watch them kick our arse. I just laughed and said ok...whatever. It will be difficult to get up to a high level of emotion two weeks in a row.

Brah some of my family still lives in the Panhandle and they would love nothing else then for UF to smash FSU and shut the Nole fans up.

The girls school does have 3 losses the last time I looked and I havent paid them any mind...I know they lost to Clemson and N Carolina (at home) forgot who the third loss was to...oh well. Espn props them up regardless but 4 Ls may see them fall through a trapdoor? Doubt it really.

Ahhhh thanks ...I'd forgotten about that, really havent paid them much mind at all. Their r/s frosh QB is talented and wont make as many mistakes as earlier in the season..but he hasnt faced our defensive talent and speed. As always, we will try to stop the run and force him to throw.
