I agree on feeling pressure. That isn't teachable, at all. Lots of instincts involved there.

Progressing reads is somewhat coachable, but the QB has to be able to feel comfortable going through them with the speed of the game. Driskel doesn't have IT as a pocket QB, that is pretty much the bottom line.

Driskel was a spread qb. Briss and brantley were pro. So even if the system wasn't designed for driskel, they've had two other chances. I disagree on it not being coachable. I've coached defense mind you for five years now and played wr/cb for a long time. I've seen qbs grow into this ability. You do drills with rushers and knowing where they are coming from. It's an easy drill with two ends going behind one coming up front. Qb looks down field and moves in and over. Then you progress and make the drill increasingly difficult. I've watched qbs grow a sense in the pocket ovrr time when coached properly. The hardest thing to get a qb to do is completely change his mechanics and get more power. The other stuff can be coached. They may not become manning or Brady with pocket presence, but they will learn how to sense where to blitz should be coming from because they've found and located it pre snap and they get the eternal clock necessary to become a good or at least better pocket passer. Some can't, but most can. But if driskel can't, then there is ZERO excuse for taking him over brissett. Briss had it and you could see it. It's necessary if you know your oline sucks and you are going to not use the ability of the run qb anyways.

I feel our OL issues are more coaching/development. I think we currently have good enough depth/talent. Our OL has just been wildly inconsistent. I remember Nixon last year had plays where he owned Clowney 1-on-1, but most of the time he would be terrible. This suggests to me that our OL has the potential, but our coaches aren't getting out of them consistently for one reason or another.

Some of it might just be how much time spent in practice. Our OL was great at run blocking last year, and I bet it's because we focused on our run game in practice. Remember, we only have 20 hours a week to practice. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the reason our OL is bad in pass protection is because the passing game isn't a focus during practice.

The main reason our running game hasn't been as good as last year, is that teams have come to the conclusion of:

"frick it, we're loading the box with 8 and we'll see if they can beat us with the pass".

Miami and LSU both did that, and Louisville did much of that in the Sugar Bowl, although Pease abandoning the running game after the first quarter had a lot to do with that.

That is what I am saying though. There isn't an OC in any type of major football that would run the ball against stacked boxes almost 80% of the time on 1st down. Something stinks man... 247's TG did a study, and UF has gained 0 yds or lost yds like 73% of 1st downs.

I was glad that post is hidden from me on 247. Thanks for taking a dump all over the UF offense.

Goldkamp is one of the best people to get info about Florida from Sparty.

Just ignore the insane homers on the board and you get a lot of good info there.

I don't.

This is really the only SEC/UF board I post on.

GatorCountry went to shite in 08/09 after Tebow and that team went on their run.

GatorSports was always turrible.

I do read 247 regularly though.

I stopped posting there. To many people full of themselves that think being a good fan means never thinking anything is wrong. I put up a detailed thread on why both Taylors should be starting based on high school footage and practice footage too huge down votes because I'm not a coach , and coaches know all apparently(though I actually do coach). Then I made another stating our run defense will not be very strong without easley because we won't be able to grab the blocks for the lbers, who don't take the best gaps anyways.

What do you know. I want somewhere were knowledge is more important than being positive beyond reason. Being a blind homer does mean you are a better fan than someone who is realistic, it just means you don't have thought. Can't deal with the clowns, especially since most of them are posting there on saturdays and not even in the stands. figs. I love my team and school, and I won't allow some couch potato who follows like a sheep tell me I'm not a fan because I don't accept mediocrity.

would you get banned if you were critical of gators? I don't have an account on any other site, so I have no idea.

GatorSports was awesome from 2000-2004 then went to complete shite. That used to be the only site were a homer and a negagator could have a legit conversation about the direction the team was heading. Gatorcountry imo is the one that has always been complete utter shite. 247 is only good for recruiting imo.

Being critical is all good here. However, being overly negative won't be tolerable for too long.

I think we have a solid group of posters over here, and I love some constructive criticism. I just wish this board had more posters.

Agreed. I may seem overly critical but I'm really not. I'm just kind of frustrated with lack of progress on offense and It's making me impatient. I expected 2-4 loses this year, but I also expected a better offense. Kind of just driving me a little nuts. I want it to be talent, but I can't shake that It's development. We don't even put the best players on the field. Debose probably is the best wr on our team, but he doesn't practice well. Just wondering when we will field the best 11, not the hardest working. I'll take a lazy Allen overdone over a hard working jameer nelson every day to Sunday.

Believe me I understand it. I'm taking shite now from USC fans. frick do I hate that team.

Next year is the year for us I believe. Senior QB. Monster RB core. Oozing WR talent. And hopefully a TE . All we need is depth along the line( both of them really).

And if we flame out with that, then we'll see.
