Honestly if LDR's dad wasn't who he is he'd never have been playing D1 football.
Everyone in Jax who followed high school football even a little bit was just WTF when he transferred to UF and was in the QB mix.
But, at the same point, UF fans do suck when it comes to QBs. The criticism clearly affected Driskel's last year here, and you can call him soft or blame the coaches for his development but all it took for him was a change of scenery and now he's an NFL QB.
Some guys seem to feed off the negative attention but not everyone is built that way. Criticism is one thing but my god people get way too invested into these QB races.

I mean, I'm not one of those pussification of America" type guys, but people don't lose weight by everyone telling them they look great.
They lose weight because people say something about it and the person feels like they need to change.
With Driskel, the biggest threat against him is that they (the team) felt he won the position unfairly, so what happened is the team elected who would play rather than the coach over who they liked. Driskel looked bad, but I mean look at how terrible his line played, look at the dropped passes, jogging routes, it was a joke.
Quarterbacks I've defended: LDR, Driskel, Appleby
Quarterbacks I've condemned: Harris, Franks
Grier was somewhere in the middle, because obviously he had the Quarterback minerals but the PEDs are very hard to excuse.
That being said:
If someone just says Franks is trash, and that's it, well obviously this is bad. If someone is giving direct messages to Franks, his TWitter Account, any social media platform directly connected with him, that's pretty bad.
However, and this is a big however: Most Quarterbacks, especially successful Quarterbacks, don't fricking read Twitter. They don't care what outside sources say. They also know when they're supposed to say: "Damn, I need to get better". Grier is okay with this regarding self-deprecation, he says it all the time. "If anyone knows how to throw interceptions..."
I think my problem with Franks is that he doesn't see his problems as severe ones. "You know, Tom Brady throws interpcetions..." How daft do you have to be to say that after a game and think it was smart? I know being negative isn't fun, but I'm just hoping that we end this experiment soon -- not because I dislike him as a person, and if he's the best we have then I'll support him, but simply because I don't think he's really put in the work to better himself, and seems to never admit that he's not where he should be.

It’s the internet. If you got soft skin don’t come here.

And definitely don't play in tough guy sports when you can't handle trash talk. I mean, the things I say about Franks are much softer than what rival fanbases say. People cheer him starting, he was ranked last on 247's SEC QB list, rival fans say he's their favorite Gators player.
The internet (especially Twitter) is not a place for the timid.
