All of this is based on speculation, but here's what's very probable:

Steele is 98% gone. From what I've heard, he's been looking for a way out for a while.

Hill is staying unless he's putting up a front. He retweeted a Vol poster that said something like: "Hill is transferring, several players won't qualify academically etc. etc." and said it was all nonsense.

That's what I know for now.

What's the basis for Steele wanting out for a while? Can't stand getting railroaded at practice?

GC released a report that is pretty damning.

Saying Steele wanted out of his dorm with Jones(because Jones is a piece of shite) and UF wouldn't move him till the Summer. Now this all comes out he raped women and Steele seems done and fed up for moral reasons....which if true..well..you can't really be mad at the kid. If the report is true, this is on the staff and a MAJOR frick up.

Kid ended up witnessing a rape and I'm sure there were other major issues with him for Steele wanting to leave that much.

"
The decision stems from a request Steele made to the staff during his first month on campus, the source said. He asked to be moved to a different dorm because he was uncomfortable rooming with quarterback Jalon Jones, his classmate.
The staff did not plan to move Steele until the summer, which upset Steele and his parents, according to the source.
Then two female students accused Jones of sexual assault at the players’ dorm on April 6. That prompted Steele to seek a transfer.
Jones has not been charged but has left the school."

Unsubstantiated but I heard that this was not a spur of the moment thing, he was just looking for the exit after being pretty jacked up at practice.

Although, if I were going to make a few hype videos, I wouldn't make one of a kid getting absolutely blasted off the line like that.

Lets not throw rocks at recruits leaving...bad look. Wish him well and we move on.

The old saying of "when it rains it pours" certainly applies to UF right now because its happening in a short period of time. But winning cures everything. We need to have a great season and I want to be on record as thinking we will have a great season...including beating those damn mutts.

I think a lot of folks will be surprised at how well our defense plays...and the offense and special teams

My concern is Wilson gets hurt again and corner deep kills us again vs teams like Georgia. Steele provided that immediate impact we needed there. Crossing fingers the two Elams can save us.

Mcwilliams must be the luckiest guy on the team. Theres no way that dude should ever play a down at UF and now with Steele leaving and the Brian Edwards thing he just keeps creeping back up the depth chart.

There no competition in California? What a nanny if that's true. Since when is succeeding at the highest levels easy?

Best of luck, Chris Paper-mache.

He got rolled and it got published on Florida's main page, got a ton of coverage. The people that are talking about it the most are Unkle Silkk, love or hate him, he has outstanding sources.

Other people close with the situation are kind of saying the same thing and now the narrative is that he's using the "they wouldn't let me relocate my dorm" as an excuse to play immediately.

Again, take it with a grain of salt, to me it sounds legit and makes sense.

I really don't like coming around here to call a young man out. So I wont. Instead, I am calling out everyone who believes he left because of his dorm assignment. That is pure bullhockey. I just hope like hell UF shows some balls and opposes his waiver.

You can say it's playing time or homesickness, I've heard a few sources say that it was one or the other. I don't think he was afraid to compete personally, but heard from several reputable Twitter handles (some have deleted, probably due to pressure from Florida as I explained in my other post, they get special access for towing the line) have posted about it, too.

In the end, he definitely did not want to be at Florida but probably not for this.

He was in first team reps and yea he got burned a little in the Spring game but that was using pretty basic coverages from what we heard about the defense.

The kid was a freshman did he seriously expect to start day one? Wilson and Henderson are locked in and Elam and the third guy is a pretty good corner in Dean to topple as well. The roommate thing makes more sense to me because I can understand that situation being uncomfortable enough. I mean walking in on two rapes could weigh on moral conscious.

I’ve been too busy to look close but why can’t we ever get good news? Ugh.

I don't think it has to do with playing time, I just think it wasn't nearly as easy as it was to do in high school where he's playing against an occasional blue chip but the vast majority of the dudes he can go up against he's blowing out of the water.

Cue fricking Van Jefferson and Grimes, both dudes who are going to murder it going forward.

Like I said, probably not good to let him get roasted on Twitter (he responded to people, so we know he saw it) via the main account and watch Grimes/Jefferson completely pancake him.

Either way, I doubt he told Merlins everything.

Just read an updated article that said Steele spoke to the staff in January. Three months went by without action so it doesn't matter the who, the what or the when.

Florida just got wrecked and it'll play well for rival recruitment.

Some updates:

Apparently his father Tweeted that his son was getting a lot of love from Florida less than a month ago, and now his son wants to leave Florida.

Some are saying things aren't adding up, and I tend to agree.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, man, but stranger things have happened.
