Besides your political views, you sound like a regular guy.

The rest of this is just gibberish from someone who thinks they are the smartest person in the room.
Also, when you want to address my points and not apply ad hominem, maybe that's a start. I've never impugned your intelligence, as you just did mine. Hence why I said you prefer rhetoric to dialectic.
What's the point in having a discussion with someone who is only going to call you a fool when they don't have a retort at hand? That's not a path to anything.
The article I posted neatly explains why presidents have so little power over oil prices. It's pretty easy to guess that gas was going to go up once demand started increasing. There was a point in 2020 where there was so much supply, oil producers were having to pay people to take barrels off their hands. From there, that explains why what's going on is going on. Yes, canceling the Keystone XL will probably affect prices, but not for another decade or two at best.
As far as you jobs claim, yelling about correlation is not an argument. CNBC is hardly some far left think tank, which is why it was the source I chose. We had a natural experiment, as they would say in economics. Several states ended the pandemic unemployment benefits early, yet there was no change in their unemployment status vs. those that kept them. It's a spurious claim.
There are two things I'll hang my hat in regard to this discussion.
1. I've learned I'm rarely the smartest person in the room.
2. When people stoop to calling you names rather than addressing your points, you've exceeded their level of knowledge and they're firing with all they've got left.
And that's not a judgement on how smart you are or aren't or even what kind of person you are. It's simply a critique of the quality of your counter argument. The above was essentially knocking all the pieces off the chessboard and shitting on it.

Cliff notes, It's all Trump's fault.
I didn't say that. I don't think much of this has to do with Trump either, to be honest.
This what I mean with binary opposition. You've created in your head a world where, if I didn't vote for Trump, I'm a big Biden fan. Most people who voted for Biden don't care for him at all, they just cared for Trump less.
The next false dichotomy, since I don't care for Trump, I think everything is his fault. I don't really. I actually think Operation Warp Speed was a real feather in his cap. Gas prices may be somewhat better under him, but that would be because his relationship to OPEC countries was less antagonistic that Biden's is. The Saudis would prefer Trump back so long as whoever is running Biden's foreign policy is less friendly and, given the public's superficial knowledge of gas pricing, doing what they can to keep those even a nickel higher than they might is just a good political move.
I also was never onboard with the whole "Russiagate" think the Trump admin deserved more credit for some of the moves they made against Russia during his presidency.

I agree with some of what you said, but this statement is just incorrect. Gas price were considerably lower under the Trump administration because he favored domestic oil production over using OPEC oil. He was not detoured from this policy of American oil independence by the tree huggers of the Democratic party, who have hijacked Biden and his energy policy.
Don't even try to argue that point or I will just say you are injudicious on this topic. If the prices were moderately higher, you might have an argument but gas prices are up approximately 30% nationwide. Short of a fundamental change in policy or a global increase in demand this would not happen.

Well, it looks like the Supreme Court will decide if a "want to be" Dictator in the US can mandate that all citizens in America, young or old must take an experimental vaccine, regardless of their personal or religious beliefs. Heaven help us if they vote poorly.

Tested positive for Covid Tuesday as did wife and 86 year old mother. We were infected………….wait for it, by a relative that was vacated twice and boosted and passed it thru the family. Day 5 now and all are feeling ok, still a little weak. Lost sense of smell today. What pisses me off is that I can’t return to work until the 10th of Jan because my employer hasn’t updated Covid protocol so basically missing 2 weeks of work for a bad cold. Let’s go Brandon, shut it all down, dumbasd.

Recovered completely from Covid as did wife and Mother.
I have had worse viruses over the years. Time to end the vaccine mandate talk, masking requirements, other BS. If you are high risk please take care of yourself in any way you feel necessary as long, as it doesn't infringe on my freedoms.

All right Biden bros, you gonna watch the clown give his
version of the state of union tonight? SyFi at it's best.
It will be a hoot to watch him say he cured Covid, that high gas prices are Russia's fault, crime is under control, the border is under control and inflation is just temporary.
What an F-ing joke. November can't come fast enough, time to kick out Pelosi and Shumer and neuter Sleppy Joe from inflicting any more damage to the country until 2024 when we can elect an actual leader.

Batman is closer to reality than what will be said in the state of the union by the Joke. (r)
See what I did there?

Well Brandon didn't disappoint, fiction at it's best told by a senile clown. I bet Putin was laughing in his vodka tonic.
It was hilarious when they showed the faces of some of the Senators as he was lying, they could barely keep from laughing out loud.
And the "Go get em." at the end of the speech. WTF was that about? November can't come fast enough.

Paid $4.09 for regular gas today in St Augustine.
Idiotic voting puts idiots in office. Remember that next
time you vote for a Dim! November can't come fast enough to
stop the damage being caused by the clueless people in charge right now. Hopefully we won't add nuclear war to
Biden's list of accomplishments.

Just 2 years ago, I was paying $1.89 when we were energy independent.
Fire up the pumps, open the pipe lines, frack some oil. We have more resources than any country in the world and can produce it faster and cleaner than anyone else.
Stop punishing the American people with your green new deal.

Back to the facts for the uninformed.
Inflation is the highest in over 4 decades.
Oil prices highest in history.
More instability in the world than in decades due to weak leadership by the United States.
Electric cars, windmills and solar panels will not fix this.
Elections have consequences, learn from this.
Vaccines do nothing to stop the spread of Covid.

I think the current global instability would be occurring right now regardless of who is the U.S. President because of the global response to Covid-19 and shutting everything down.
Weak leadership has made it worse, but it would still be bad right now even with strong leadership.
