I’m holding judgement until the end of season
Maybe it’s been the young WRs still learning, maybe it’s been vanilla for now up till we enter Conf play or a mixture of both.
See it through, nothing is changing mid season anyways so no reason bitching every week about the same things.
We’ll see if it improves or not over the season.

Pass pro plays a part I’m sure.

Against Charlotte we were running many times when it was clearly a pass friendly defense they were in. I think Mertz has the ability to check out of plays so I am not sure if he is more to blame or Napier.

I would bet that Napier doesn't give Mertz the permission to check from run to pass, he probably can adjust plays based on the front but not change the whole play from say run to pass. But who knows for sure except them?

I think Richardson had the permission to do that last year and there were several times where he made some questionable decisions checking the offense into a really bad play.

If we don't dump this two OL coaches BS and get a special teams coach and OC, we ain't sniffin shite that matters with this staff. Our ceiling will be an unusually good season here and there where our dreams get crushed by two or three teams after a hot start, and that is best case.

If the plan isn’t to stop the run and make their trash QB who is 4-12 for 36 yds beat us, then Armstrong isn’t worth his salt.

I want to see this defense on film after this game. I have seen our edge using crappy technique but there are others messing up big time also.

I don’t agree with it, but I don’t think this fanbase has the patience to give him another year if he regresses.
Reality is, we aren’t going to be worth a shite until 2025. And that may only be a 8-9 win season. That’s assuming lagway and some of these other recruits come in and step up. Will also have to get an actual OC.
I don’t know how we got here…but we’re in football hell.
