UGA is buttfricking Auburn right now, and they’re gonna do the same to our defense. Kyle to Kyle is gonna turn into a one dimensional offense and it’s gonna be put to bed early much like the 4th qtr today. Georgia was our obstacle and this defense ain’t stopping it. UGA vs Bama is gonna be a bigger game this year than we first realized as well.

Long time till that game. This Auburn team barely beat UK. Ole Miss beat UK. Relax. Let Campbell and Stewart come back and see how we look in a few weeks. Our defense has been good for years. Covid could very well be the reason for the rough start.

I agree with both hot takes, but I just have to admit.

Them dogs is hell.

Also Auburn is straight buns.

Nix is just bad. Dawgs do look a lot better today though for sure.

The plays are there, Auburn's WRs have popped out in the secondary a few times but Nix just doesn't have the delivery system.

He's also excruciatingly bad at reading defenses. There was an obvious CB blitz that he missed and let his RB run right into the teeth of it.

I hope our defense can adjust, because Georgia clearly has.

Long ways off.

Our offense is certainly better than Auburns and Trask is WAY BETTER than Nix.

Question will be if Mullen can get out of his own way and if the defense can get its shite together.

But there’s a long way till Jacksonville.

Exactly lmfao. Georgia isn't even masking it and he still can't read it. Auburn might not even be a ranked team by the end of this season if they continue like this.

I for sure don't see them beating Ole Miss.

Agreed. We def need to figure out how to get more size on the line vs them though.

Auburn a few times has loaded the box and those few times it worked incredibly well.

Verse them I'd say live with getting beat occasionally deep by Pickens(put Elam on him every play).

Go with a big front. Something like Dexter/Slaton/Campbell then put Moon or Carter where Cox would usually be. Then put Stewart at star and Dean at FS. That gives us the best run defense probably. Have Dean always in the box as well. Just force them to win in the air. Cant let them win on the ground.

Even on dump offs he is inaccurate. Holy shite. Like a three yard throw is always behind the guy catching it. Just insane. Auburn has some serious weapons and they are being absolutely wasted.

Do you think Schwarz regrets not coming to Florida and having Trask throw to him instead of Nix?

Comon Finch...

Did you see how our defense progressed as the year went on last year?

I expect similar this season. Most people thought we would get blown out by Georgia based on the Miami game. We kept it close.

So I don't agree. It's going to be a closely fought game that hopefully we wind up on the right side of.

We need to fundamentally overhaul how our defense is called.

It doesn't matter if we execute, or play better if our players aren't even in the play.

Go watch the SC game, both safeties are playing 20 yards off of the line, our coverage is like 8 - 10 yards off. We gave them the underneath.

I mean, I guess I get it because we were just scoring at will for most of the game and then they just gave up, but that wasn't the case in the first half when they drove down the field on us.

Grantham has flat out been outcoached, and he needs to change or we will lose, maybe something like four games.

LSU is improving.

Tennessee isn't an automatic win.

Georgia is still Georgia, and until we beat them they have our number.

shite, Kentucky has played us close and they have the type of Quarterback that crushes Grantham defenses.

We pretty much need to come together and figure out what we can change, because if we playcall this same way we could get wrecked by a few teams on our schedule.

This is a pipe dream, and we have been saying it for a while. The defense isn't changing how it runs.

The only thing we can hope for this year is better play.

But the reality that we all need to face up to this year is this: UF is not dominant on the LOS, and you don't win titles without being able to hold your own on the LOS.

I think TAMU, UT, and UGA are all better than UF on the LOS, and LSU and UK are about equal.

UF could lose ANY of those games with just an average game from the offense. For UF to win the east and be a play off contender the offense will need to score 6 TDs a game. They may be good enough. Only time will tell.

I mean teams like LSU, Bama, OU,OSU, etc have all put 6 TDs on the reg.

Not seeing why Florida cant either. I mean our offense looks very dangerous. It isnt just throwing to wide open targets because defenses are bad. Its hitting perfect passes verse their best corners(USCe has two very good corners) and still winning the ball. That is something elite offenses do.

What that forces defenses to do, is have to give up something each play. You cant double cover Pitts, and protect the crossing route with Toney all while blitzing Trask. You cant protect over the top and the come back on Grimes on the outside while protecting the flat from Toney and the middle from a streaking Pitts.

Right now Trask knows the progression and is reading the defense incredibly well. He is throwing in absurdly tight windows because of how athletic our WRs are, which is exactly what Burrow did last year. Watch Burrow last year, then Trask this year. They do very similar things(besides the RPO). They know the match up pre snap and are going to force the weakest match up to beat their receiver. That's high brow offense.

We still have things to work on of course. Things like Shorter getting off press(he is awful at it), using Copelands explosiveness more getting Davis and Wright out in space. All things to get better throughout the year.

Right now though. The offense is functioning at a championship level. We just need the defense to be good enough. If we can hold teams to under 30, we should win every game we play. That's the key. Because this offense should score 30 on everyone it plays, even Georgia. Elite offense in football now is usually going to score no matter who is on the other side. You saw LSU vs Georgia last year. Georgia had an elite defense, but you cant stop a perfectly functioning offense because the rules favor offenses. UF is getting better each week at figuring out each what it can do on offense. We now know Toney is go to, and Whittemore is a dangerous slot target that is a match up nightmare with shorter safeties and corners. Add that to Grimes being a good all around receiver and Copeland being a strong intermediate route runner and the best TE in the country.

That's a lot of things defenses have to prepare and figure out how to defend every snap.

If Muschamp ran his offense like he actually wanted to win the game we would have had another burger (50 points).

Pretty easily, in fact. Holy shite I don't miss Muschamp, I've never seen a coach pack it in like that with two quarters to go.

I got the feeling he just wanted to keep the score close.

I don't miss him at all.

But having said that, our Defense has to get better.
