So I figured who to get better tips from then you classy gents.

I am going with wife's uncle who is a UF Alum. I am sure he has some stuff in mind, but what are some must sees? tips? advice on how to do a weekend in Gainesville? I am flying into Orlando on Friday. I think we have a hotel in Ocala not Gainesville since we waiting so long to finalize the trip. Our seats on the 25 yard line, row 70. Just how high will I be? At Kyle we have multiple decks so the seats rows usually end at 25-35.

Thanks in advance

i was going to say you could park near the krispy kreme(corner of 13th and university), but google maps has shown me that there's new apartments being built in what used to be empty grass parking lots. this makes me sad because it was the closest you could get to the stadium without a parking pass.

There is so much to do in Gainesville, especially from an eating and drinking perspective.

I don't even know where to start.

Assuming you find decent parking, you probably will want to stay close to the stadium, if that is the case, your options are more limited to the mid-town bars and a lot of students and tailgates around the stadium.

You should head downtown that night after the game. Lots of good places to eat, and there is pretty much something for everyone.

I loved my trip to College Station, I hope a lot of Aggies travel to see the Swamp.

Enjoy your trip, park wherever you can. Students let you park at their houses for anywhere from $10 to $80 right there across the street from the stadium. Like it's been said, there's so many places to eat in Gainesville that you will find somewhere. There's literally something for whatever food you want.

Hopefully for the game day atmosphere it's a night game and the weather isn't rainy. I would say get there early and get to your seat. The band pregame is pretty standard but Florida sings their alma mater, does the big Orange and Blue chant, has a former player do the Mr. Two Bits chant, and has a few cool videos they show before the team comes on the field. All stuff that you may find cool as an opposing fan in a stadium you've never been in.

Enjoy your trip! I hope you run into a bunch of hospitable people in Gainesville like we did in College Station

Edit: I usually sit pretty low, but row 70 isn't that bad. If you look at pictures of the stadium, it goes straight up and you are pretty much on top of the field no matter where you sit. Your seats will be great, especially at the 25 yard line. You'll have a great view.

Which section are you in? 25 yard line row 70 on the visitor sideline will be the student section, or really close to it. And likely less friendly to visitor fans

Home sideline will put you in the middle of the "alumni" side and you should be comfortable there. You'll be around older fans and- unless you're beside some bad seeds- should get treated fairly well.

If it's a day game you'll be in the shade. Those will be really good seats.

I personally like sitting a little higher so that I can have a better "birds eye" type view but my friends like getting on tv down low

Hope y'all enjoy it!

I would recommend parking North of stadium at someones house. If you do so, try coming down 8th not University.

I don't know much about Ocala myself but it is a unique place with tons of horse farms.

On the way up from Ocala, hit up Pearls BBQ. They will probably be slammed but it will be worth it. They also have a great breakfast if you are traveling up early. BBQ in a gas station in the middle of nowhere.

the swamp (the bar across the street from the stadium) is a pretty sweet place to pre-game. sometimes, the network cameras like to walk and pre-record before the game.

+2 for pearls on the way up.

It's right off 441 in micanopy. In a gas station but the food is top notch.

I miss doing the pearls challenge back in college.

Swamp is good for game day but good luck getting a seat. If you want to see most of the campus I recommend parking on the east side in the parking garage just east of 441.
It's a 15 minute walk to the stadium and there are always spots open around there if you get there early enough. You'll run in to tons of tailgates on the way that you can stop in.

Pearls is SO TASTY. I've never been there without a hangover though. Is it better or worse without the hangover?

And seriously - after the game - so many good places to eat downtown.

It just kind of depends on how much money you want to spend.

Bump for game week.

Any other recommendations?

I am looking for a good spot to watch the Astros v Indians/Yankees Saturday afternoon before the game. What's good and close to campus?

441 is closed atm. Just north of Pearls. Grab some food then jump on the interstate.

20 bucks for parking? Where are you?

The swamp or the salty dog. Both of them are across the street from the stadium.

Damn that sucks. We always pulled off on 441 in alachua and came down to university. There used to be parking at the 441/university intersection across the street from Burger King. It’s been developed since my last visit.

Aggies are some of the coolest cats around when it comes to fans. Hope you have fun.
