Hey fellow Gators. I have decided that I will not support the UFAA on account of that loser Kent Fuchs calling us "Gator Baiters" racists. Here is my email to the UFAA.

===========================
Dear UF Alumni Association

I am writing to you today to withdraw my membership from the UF Alumni Association.

I am a third generation UF alumni and descendant of the Alderman Florida pioneer family.  The "Gator Bait" remarks from President Fuchs that insinuate that old Floridians of the past were feeding black babies to alligators truly sickened me.  That is my Florida pioneer family he is talking about! They have never done such a thing!  They worked hard to create a life in this state in the 1800s and do not deserve to be called bloodthirsty racists.  This is truly insulting.

But for whatever reason, our President has decided to besmirch the dead to virtue-signal to a small but vocal crowd.  And that is truly a disappointment to the entire UF alumni community. "Gator Bait" has never meant what he insinuated.  Never has; Never will.

I will no longer associate myself with the University of Florida until Mr. Fuchs apologizes and steps down from his position as president.  UF and it's alumni deserve better.

Regretfully yours,

Excellent. I hope more people actually put their money where their mouth is and stop feeding these idiots.

Is Fuchs even from Florida?

I don't agree with Fuchs decision, but I’m nut sure I agree that he implied Floridians actually took part in such behavior. His statement only talks about the imagery associated with the phrase. I can really only speak for myself as a 7th gen Floridian, but I didn’t interpret his statement as any sort of attack on my family.

But who was it hunting alligators in Florida at the turn of the century? Somebody had to do it for it to be real and for imagery to exist. If you had family around at that time, and they ever hunted an alligator, then they are the ones he is talking about...except it was never true. Just like Bubba's noose wasn't true. They're all going crazy.

If he didn't mean it that way, then he is a dolt and he shouldn't have revoked the "Gator Bait" cheer.

I will not financially support the University or UFAA for now. I'm proud of my Florida heritage and the Gator grads in my family who came before me. I will still follow the Gators. But I am not spending another dime to advance this man's agenda.

Not really. The imagery was supposedly based on an old racial epithet that alligators preferred black skin. We know the imagery exists because there are plenty of examples, but that doesn't mean it was actually done.

I didn't like the decision either. One wrong move won't stop my support, there's a lot of good things going on there right now, but that's certainly your own decision to make.

The Gator bait issue was just another case of UF administration showing just how left wing, PC liberal they are. I love Gator athletics, my family first bought season tickets back in the 1950's and my entire family are Gator fans, but I strongly dislike the administration of the university and the fact that other than Mizzou that UF is probably the most liberal, politically correct school in the SEC.

Worse than the Gatorbait shite show another example was when they forbid the Gator band to play the Florida's state song. The flagship University in the state and their band not allowed to play the state song, WTF?

In my lifetime I have been a Gator club president, a higher level booster, season ticket holder but those days are over, now I buy my tickets to individual games the I want to attend from where ever I get the best price, watch the rest on TV and don't give them a penny for anything else. Sounds bad but I don't feel that they really relate to an old conservative Florida Redneck like me.

Go Gators.

I didn’t renew my season tickets which I’ve had since ‘87. My give-a-shite factor is on the decline.

Boom! Join the club. If enough boosters, season ticket holders express their opinion on the university’ s PC positions by with withholding money, we will get their attention.

If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.

Wanting your sports without politics and PC bullshite isn't that radical a position.

Go Gators! (it is still OK to say that, right?) don't want to offend anyone.

If you ain't a Gator, you must be Gatorbait! Oh, shite went too far. Sorry, (Not really)

and while I am at it, All Lives Matter, and the state song of Florida is "Suwannee River."

and everyone should stand for the anthem to show respect for the flag and kneel for the cross.
