I have talked with a lot of you for years now, had disagreements, agreements but at the end of the day I always believed that we were Gator fans. The last few days have been stupid. Everybody back away from the ledge, it's just a football team. Get mad over the real threats we have right now to our freedom, future. Win or lose I will put on my orange and blue and travel to the Swamp to watch the Gators play. Why, because I am a Gator fan.

Seems like there are more fickle fans of late.

People were really hanging their hopes on an elite recruiting class. The class ended up okay, but tumbled down a lot.

Frankly, Napier doesn't seem to have a grasp on this program, and the schedule is going to be tough next year. Not to mention that even if Napier is fired, no one has any faith that Stricklin will hire a competent replacement.

Football program is facing a lot of uncertainty after 15 years of mediocrity.

Could be worse, imagine being a Gator fan from the beginning to Pell. Lots of years that make this look tame.

The more you age, the more history repeats if you just step back, watch, and learn.

I'm 67 and a lifelong Gator fan, I have seen it a lot worse than it is right now. In my lifetime we have had maybe 20 great or even good years. Except for the Spurrier and Meyer years, UF has a spotted record of success throughout history so fans that believe we are Alabama are misguided. I want to win like everyone else but nothing is guaranteed, in football or life.

We do, but it’s hard right now to see generally a positive direction and trajectory that this program is going towards under this regime.

A spry young whippersnapper I see!

From the other thread (that has gone silent)

I am old enough to listen to mom talking about riding up and down Miami Beach and this was the whole beach

2 crappy houses
Lots of palm trees
Skeeters bigger than Palmetto bugs, and hoards of them
Sand

That said, I know the history down there firsthand better than any Wikipedia page.

While this is well before your time. Prior to Julia Tuttle getting together with Henry Flagler, nobody wanted to live that far south in the state of Florida.
