That was a very sad ending. Shula completely and utterly destroyed Protro’s NFL career. For what? Just to beat the Gators by 4 TDs with a minute left in the game. Yes, Bama was up by 3 touchdowns and was going deep late in the 4th for zero good reason.
Was Shula trying to save his job? Didn’t work. Or did he have a beef with the Gators?
It will be hard to peel him away, but we need Mullen.
