Let's hope it's the latter!
These guys come out of high school like the savior of a program. Driskel was supposed to be ours. That worked out real well.
Maybe Franks will be as good or better than Eason. We have no choice but to hope so.
I know one thing, there's 2 quarterbacks that are relieved today, Franks and Greir

Um we beat the former twice and won 2 Nattys in those years. I would take that all day in trade for Eason beating us one time!

agreed, Stafford didn't win anything of substance...

I wouldn't worry too much about Eason. If you watch his highlight vids you'll notice that he never faced much competition up there in the great WHITE North.
He may turn out to be awesome but I'm not sure he faced another SEC caliber athlete in HS.

He isn't as talented as Stafford out of HS, Matt was a special QB. He is much more polished than Driskel though, and it really isn't close.

He is going to play for a 1st year HC that was a great DC under Saban like Muschamp and he could have played for a more proven HC that won multiple NCs as a OC at a major college kinda like Richt but better. Good luck to him , it would suck for him to waste his talents because he wanted to play for a unproven HC .

Nailed it. Somewhere in between is a good bet. I think most UGA fans with a rational thought process anticipate growing pains in year one and serviceable to good in year 2... development past that will remain to be determined. The alternative had we not landed him, however, was bleak. Throw away 2016, growing pains in 2017 with a QB that we don't yet have committed. 2018 with a potential shite load of attrition from the D at that point and you are in trouble. All the while, what WR wants to come play at UGA with another season of the Lamebert show chucking the rock or Ramsey punting it to them.
Also, G8r and Road are spot on... even if he is the second coming of Stafford, that seemed to work out pretty well for the gators, so wouldn't sweat it too much, though those years of arse were largely due to some awful defenses fielded by Willie Martinez.
