While I have little faith in our coaching, I feel like next year might actually be pretty good. I don't mind if we go 6 - 6 as long as we lose to a superior team and at least keep it respectable.

Not to say that it wouldn't hurt to have that much bad luck, but of course, I just want teams to worry about us on their schedule again. If we can right the offense, I think we'll be good to go.

Gonna call it early: VH III going to be a monster next year.

I feel the same way. Waiting to see who we get as coaches. I hope we have some cohesion as a team. If we can get some pressure from the DL VH III has a cahnce to go off. It would be nice.

VH3 is better than all the corners we had ( Haden, Jenkins) as a freshman. It's incredible how good he is.

We just need a semi-decent offense that keeps the D relatively fresh.

And a kicking game

I'm optimistic either way....We either do well or we don't a get a new coach.

All I know is Roper is tearing it up on the trail thus far. He is trying his damndest to inject some speed into the O. UF has sent out some offers with him as OC that would have never happened with Pease.

I'm glad we're going back to speed and, for the most part, abandoning the power game. Don't get me wrong, it's nice having a power back but we have -zero- threat on the outside. There isn't a team in the nation who was afraid of us.

If WM lets Roper run his offense, I think we'll be just fine.

That "power" game got us to a BCS bowl in 2012, lets not forget. We have to keep teams respecting the middle...and the moans and groans from the peanut gallery at games when we run the power dive plays of trap type plays shows they don't understand that fundamental football requires keeping the other team off balance to open passing attack. We had second/thirs string qbs with weak arm strengths in 2012 and no mone was afraid of us...plus our wrs were limited in abilities.

Believe me...Im ready for the offense to start clicking with new direction and it will with upperclassman qb and a SEC schedule with a few new qbs on it. Anything less than 9-3 is not acceptable to me...and I feel 10-2 is best bet to predict outcome...and that one loss may be to OOC team so we could still compete for Hotlanta.

I'll say this again: UF easily has the toughest schedule in the country next year.

I highly doubt we go 9-3. 8-4 at best IMO.

I think Muschamp is a good coach and while he is young there will be some growing pains and this season was a result of that, injuries, and a shitty OC.

The Gators will bounce back.

I do think we'll be better in 14, and I think Roper will prove to be a good hire. Now, time beat fricking UGA and FSU now. I'd be fine with 8-4/9-3, but keeping it respectable with no bad losses.

Without a doubt, and he showed that last year too.

Losing in the Sugar Bowl is not comparable to losing to an FCS and not going to a bowl. Auburn won an NCG with one coach and fired him when he underperformed -- they're now in the NCG and we're watching from the sidelines with the likes of Kentucky.

I don't know how you can have any optimism after a 4-8 season. UF has potentially 7 ranked teams on the schedule next year, we don't know who the QB is, our OL is in shambles, and Muschamp WR recruits have only caught one TD pass in 3 years, and the kicking game is a disaster.

Oh and the defense gave up 400 yards rushing to a FCS school at home.

Just to recap.

Don't I know it? But, if you look at those problems...there isn't a single one on defense. Our defense should be strong, and if we get creative on offense (insanity, I know, us? Creative?) then we may just pull off a few good wins. Muschamp has some serious growing up to do, though.

How in the living HELL did we manage to go 11-1 just the year before? Answer that riddle. You cant because you wanna moan....but you obviously will have less to talk about mid season when you see the results.

Seven ranked teams? Maybe...just maybe...a few wont be ranked when we play them. If you are counting UGA as a ranked team that is laughable.
LSU, UGA, Bama all start over at qb. We play USC, LSU, Mizzou and UK at home plus we play UGA in the WLOCP and their new qb....Nebraska ran over them....predicting 7-5 or 8-4 at best for them.
Bama? OU beat them because Bamas DL is not nearly as good as it was two years ago....they haven't had kids step up and with 5* kids it can bite you. They will still be good...but doesn't mean we cant go there and beat them with their new qb.

Im more scared of UT than Bama right now...they are heading upwards and don't kid yourselves, they are recruiting like banshees ands have been close in a lot of recruiting battles that they didn't win. Franklin leaves Vandy and the air goes out of the balloon.

Maybe YOU don't know who our qb is...but I know who it is...Jeff Driskel.

Did you look at what happened in that game? We had a total of SEVEN scholly LBs out...we were forced to play a WALK ON LB and inserted a true frosh with hardly any snaps...he was going to r/s. And we were playing with third string qb..Pray tell me WHICH SEC teams could march into games this past season with their third string qbs and win? Most couldn't do it with second string qb and then add in walk on LB and a true frosh LB with no experience...that's just part of the injury list my reptile friend. I'll give you the kicking game shambles though

I'll be the first person in line celebrating our victories, by 1 point or 30, next season.

IDC if its ugly or beautiful.

But IDGAF about 2012. We didn't win shite. Not a bowl, not the SEC east, nothing. frick 2012. 4-8 in 2013 was fricking unacceptable.

There are no more excuses. Time for Muschamp to put up or shut up. 22-16, 13-11 in the SEC, is straight up PATHETIC at Florida.

NO more excuses. Put up or shut up.

And why did we win 11 games in 2012? Because Urban Meyer recruits had a huge year. Look at Sturgis, Gilislee, Elam, Floyd, Easley, Reed, Evans, Bostic, Jenkins, etc...

I'm not sure why you're doing this to yourself. Part of me thinks it's very difficult for you to come to terms with being wrong about a guy.

Sure, we were banged up -- that happens. 400 yards on the ground without a single forward pass completed to an FCS school at home who was down -19- scholarship players including two of their starting running backs in a running-focused gameplan?

There is no amount of interpolating that information to come up with something good -- unless our cheerleaders played.

And at least then we'd have something fun to watch.

A slow FB had a 40 yard run on UF because our LBs and Safeties (who were not banged up) were out of position.

And this is the thing too: Everyone wants to blame Meyer but as it becomes increasingly obvious, he left our program in a pretty good position. We had the defense.

Literally our only problem has been this offensive, wannabe Bama mindset.

We will agree to disagree guys...but that's a new one...we won in 2012 because of Meyer? Give me a freaking break and go watch the entire season of 2010 under Meyer for reference material. Boom had a soft as hell team in 2011 with outta control locker room...he got rid of the malcontents and made us TOUGH.

Lets just see what 2014 brings and you guys will owe me a Tangeruay & tonic

We lost in 2013 because of Meyer but didn't win in 2012 because of him? Which is it?

Our defense was the strongest aspect of last season and let's take a look at the playmakers.

Jonathan Bostic? - Meyer
Jelani Jenkins? - Meyer
Larentee McCray? - Meyer
Marcus Roberson? - Meyer
Riggs, Purifoy, Brown? - Meyer
Powell? - Meyer
Easley? - Meyer
Floyd? - Meyer
Saunders? - Meyer
Evans? - Meyer
Elam? - Meyer

If these names seem familiar -- it's because it was our entire defense for 2012 save maybe two players. Literally the only reason we were so successful is because Meyer's recruits shut down offenses.

Muschamp seems to only be successful with a stacked team, and that's not a good thing. He needs to change quite a bit this year on both sides of the ball.
