According to the prediction on the rant.

So do Gator fans think this is true? Seems two on the thread think 9 wins is expected. I say in Mullens second year we should expect to be a much better team.

I think UF can win the East. I think UF can finish the regular season with 10+ wins.

I think Coley is a shitty play caller..and that Georgia game isnt nearly as scary as last year if we go in healthy and our starting safety isnt suspended.

I think assuming we lose to LSU, when our head coach has owned their DC and HC for years is a bit odd. Sure we may not be favored LSU is very good...but we damn sure have the coaching edge in that game.

So what do you guys think is our "ceiling"?

Cause I very well think UF is going to somehow surprise people again. Considering the thought is we struggle to get to 9 wins somehow.

The media is downplaying us 95% of the time and uses the excuse "we lost key players on defense" when they don't know crap about our roster...and of course the "the Oline will be have 4 new starters". IF Bama had four new starters on their Oline do you think they wouldn't be rated in the top three? Hello.

Im feeling 11-1 and everyone on the team is wanting a championship...badly. I think we beat UGA (hell we were leading 14-13 last year early in the third qt) and lose a game to a team like S. Carolina on the road.

I love hearing that. Gardner was the third best corner on the roster behind Wilson and Henderson. His replacement is very good.

Joseph lead in solo tackles...because the scheme is designed that way. His replacement will likely lead in tackles as well.

Polite is a loss yes...but Greenard and Zuniga is still a monster 1-2 punch.

The Oline I'll play wait and see. I trust coaches to get them going well they arent all young kids like say Miamis.

Agreed. I am not falling into the we are still building line. Our starting roster is damn good. Two areas depth is a concern, but the rest of the roster is 2-3 deep at each position.

If we can stay reasonably healthy(and not get key suspensions mister Stewart)...we have a damn good team.

I wouldn't say "no" shot but we would need a lot of fortune to even be considered. There are only four teams that can do it, and considering how easy it is for some conferences it will make it that much harder for us. Clemson fans won't like to admit it, but they're at Boise State levels of "meh" for their schedule and while they still have to play the games, when you can just "lean" on opponents and beat them by four touchdowns it makes life exponentially easier.

That being said: If Franks has embraced the run, the OL gels early and is above average and our defense remains injury free -- we might do better than even Gator fans imagined. The vast majority of our players are upperclassmen, we have a veteran staff and most of our starters have significant playing time. That usually spells Playoff if you've been recruiting right and you have a good coach.

So we'll have to wait and see.

I think most are relying on two false assumptions. One being that our O line will be a huge weakness. Also that Franks will be just pedestrian as in seasons past. The line will be a work in progress but will gell faster than most expect. I have to think that Franks has made tremendous improvements between the ears since last season. Heisman trophy? No, but he will surprise many nay sayers this season.

Agreed. Mullen has one of the most impressive track records with QBs in football.

To think he cant make a 6 foot 6, 240 pound Qb that can run decently well successful is absurd. Of course Franks should improve. If he learns to handle pressure better this year we will have an incredibly nasty offense.

10-2 is fair..but these morons are claiming we for sure lose to LSU and Auburn and have zero playoff chance...the delusion of UGA fans is insane. One claimed they were more talented than any Florida team since 02..

We should be favored in 10 of our 12 games, if we pull off 1 or 2 upsets over LSU and UG, the sky is the limit.

There are people saying Florida will be lucky to score 20 points against Miami but won't ever consider a bet regarding it.

tRant is literally just a place to make crazy, retarded takes because everyone knows that no one goes back to check what anyone said. I have no idea why a bunch of our posters come running back here to talk about it, although it is fun to at least talk about it a little.

"knows that no one goes back to check what anyone said"

Try saying Chip Kelly is Floridas new coach ????

Though to be fair the only one who still brings it up now is Forever.

You also said Mike White should be fired...

You post a lot like a big man but the only point I agree with you on is the concern of depth in the secondary.

I retracted some of that late in the season he coached very well the last few games including the tourney(s).

Either way football season is coming no need to get into that for now. Hoping the recruiting pays off this year and we see just how good White can be.

Trust me, if Stewart can’t get his act together and we’re relying on Stiner or others, it won’t be pretty.

The 2007 team had a super talented young secondary, similar to our guys behind Marco and Henderson, but they took their lumps in 2007 before getting it together in 2008.

Edit: We essentially are banking on Hendo and Wilson lasting the entire season. Sure it’s possible, but likely? Ehhh

People keep forgetting that Trey Dean played Corner all year last year, and while he's not Marco Wilson or CJ Henderson...no one is. No one we could have recruited last year, no one on the roster right now or from last year, no one can replace them.

Trey Dean does have the experience to move back out and play CB if need be, and Burney is an extremely athletic player who would fit right into STAR.

At Safety we have at least five different players -- one of them has to work.

Depth numbers alone we are fine, but I don't see any scenario where both Wilson and Henderson goes down and we have a successful season. They are A++ CBs.

Not sure Dean and Burney will excel in the STAR role, at least early in the season.

Granted, the schedule isn’t too tough until October so they should become more comfortable.

I’m also saying, if EITHER CJ or Marco go down, I think there’s going to be struggles.
