I think we are going to be fine.
I’m willing to wait until he picks his coordinators before I get negative.

I don’t see anything.

So Condron sabotaged us or was Stricklin more than a willing participant not wanting Kiffin either?
Posted on 11/30/25 at 7:02 pm to Gator Fever
No. Kiffin didn’t want to be at Florida. It’s that simple fellas.

I don’t know that I believe anyone at this point but there was talk that Condron does not like Kiffin one bit.
I understand that in prep for Lane drama we spoke with about 12 active head coaches.
I will refuse to believe anyone that says Kiffin wasn’t target 1. I think he clearly was.
There will be chatter about how UF was eliminated vs UF pulling back due to Lanes desire to coach through the OM run and absolutely didnt want that.
Who knows what the truth is. I won’t believe anyone ever again not that I put much stock into the word of people I don’t know.
The two guys that were passing along info disappeared. Well, one did anyway. The other one got mad at something someone said and just said he would be off the board for a while.
I think they both believed what they were told. Spikes told someone it was Lane.
I think Saban and Pete Carrol had some influence as well.
The OM folks are the ones that got totally screwed and Stricklin may have feared being left in the same predicament.
I never wanted Lane so I have no pain here. I would have enjoyed getting banned by trolling though.
The silly season didn’t disappoint one bit.

Kiffin sent us notice the morning of the Egg Bowl that he wasn’t coming. That’s why you started seeing reports that Florida was moving on from Kiffin.

The missed opportunity to troll tRant into oblivion hurts the most
I don't get the Sumrall hire. I just think it's not a move you can make after Napier. I don't believe in him or his ability to succeed at UF. I'll happily eat my crow if I'm wrong but I think we are doing this again in a few years.

I think that's right. We are just not as attractive a job as we once were. It sucks but it's the truth.

Condron was openly saying Riley or Kiffin wouldn't coach at UF during the time we pursued Napier. I guess this time he restrained his online comments to he would like to see Sumrall get picked so no telling what he said to Stricklin about it. Of course Kiffin hearing that would choose LSU if it was up in the air before that.

The optics aren’t great, but Sumrall is nothing like Napier personally. It takes 1-2 interviews to see that. I’m supporting him and the players.
We will learn a lot what the team thinks about him in the coming days/weeks, based on their buy in and transfers.

Condron backed off the Kiffin stuff and was on board.
It’s simple, don’t overthink it. Kiffin would be here if he wanted to be.

LSU just hired Lane...paying Kelly's insane buyout and hiring the most wanted coach proves without a doubt their AD cares much more about winning than ours.

Yep the portal/ transfer situation will be interesting and especially the QB situation and what is done there.

Posting that online is not being on board. He wanted Sumrall and got what he wanted. He doesn't read the fans well being naive enough to post what he did though.

If they ever get the basketball thing figured out, they might be the best athletic department in the country.
