Everyone thinks UF is gonna be a 60/40 or 70/30 Run-Pass team this year, but I'm leaning towards 60/40 Pass.

I think so too. If we can stay consistent (unlike last year), i don't see how we aren't winning 8 games.

I went to the open practice. I didn’t see much separation between mertz and Miller. Mertz is definitely bigger tho, there’s no way miller is 6’3. Honestly Max had the best looking mechanics of the 3, I had to look up his number at first because he looked the most polished.

Caleb Banks had a big tackle for loss where he blew up the OL.

Our RBs looked good.

I think we’re going to struggle in pass d.

Safety room is dealing with some injuries, but the front 7 will be a bigger key against Utah.

It seems that has been the weakness of this defense for the last 5 years.

The defensive back field at Florida has been as bad as I can ever remember.
Not expecting much of a change this year either.
Will see in a little more than 3 weeks

Cory Raymond will continue to have a positive effect on the DBs. It has been a question of overall talent. I believe we are heading the right direction.

One reason I think 6-6/7-5 is likely this season. With Mertz at QB having some breakdowns in pass protection is a recipe for disaster. We will probably see Brown later in the season if the QBs struggle as much as I think they might.

Brown May have some packages ect but he is nowhere near ready to start full time.

He can make some good throws but ppl at practice said he had plenty of bad ones as well. Kid was deer in the headlights in the SG

Mertz and Miller are 2 former highly-touted HS QBs.

Brown could be a Kyle Trask - but that is rare and almost never happens...

If Brown is playing, odds are something has gone horribly wrong.

All indications are that Mertz is the QB1. We can only hope that he takes care of the ball and can make the easy throws, something Richardson couldn't do.

16 days till kickoff

Still time for me to have a good feeling about the game but right now. I am feeling a really bad loss and looking like a team that doesn't have a clue on Offense. Hopefully in 2 weeks I'll feel different

How do you know what the team looks like on Offense?

Ya’ll really think they show more than basic Day 1 install stuff in practices / scrimmages??

If Mertz is consistent, the offense will be fine. Not a Spurrier offense for sure but should be solid running and throwing the ball. The line is better, as are the receivers overall, great running backs, tight end is the only weak spot. I am more worried about defensive improvement over last year, but I feel good from what I have been hearing.
Napier should be more confident with his play calling if he know what the QB will do. Last year he had no idea what Richardson was going to do.

As pass catchers, mostly I’ve heard of was Arlis and Livingston

My gut feeling is that with the running backs we have, the tight ends will be mostly blockers, occasionally running a pass play.

Ideally one of the big bodied tight ends can get involved in the passing game on run downs, then we can bring in the faster guys when we want to spread the field. I'm not down on the tight ends that we have, when I look at the offense, IMO that position is the weakest on the offensive side of the ball.
