Their OL that kicked our arse and their RB who won the game for them.. ALL recruited by and developed at UK.

That UK rb was Ray Davis a transfer from Vanderbilt.

Uk had two transfer O linemen. Tanner Bowles and Marques Cox from Alabama and Northern Illinois How many more times do want to be wrong?

Rumors that Hocke is being demoted and Watkins will be having a more prominent role in S&C.

As long as Hocke is not in charge, I'm good with it. I wouldn't mind seeing him get totally canned but any change in that department is sorely needed.

Apparently, Hocke is being demoted but retained so they don't have to pay his buyout.

To hell with his buyout it's alot less then Napiers buyout.

So Napier needs to decide if his buyout is more important then Hocke.

Napier would benefit financially a lot more from collecting his buyout than he would dispensing Hocke with his

That QB wasn't good this year but he was a hell of a lot better than Mertz at NC State (not sure if the injury still had him messed up or what). Mertz isn't a good QB so far but very average and its why he was throwing high% short crap all the time even though it was short of the chains on 3rd and 4th down. The difference from here and WI was he tried to get it past the chains there in those situations and got himself into trouble a lot. He was so gun shy he would rather do that line of scrimmage stuff the defense was giving away than try and get a first down if he had a tight window that required a good throw. Watching him play compared to some other SEC QBs is a complete joke in reality. But he completed almost 80%...

Yeah and our shite OL had zero to do with that. lol

What games you missed when we tried to go deep he got fkn rocked?

You do know it takes at least 3.5 seconds for WRs to get 30 yards downfield, right?
Very few times we had that

Mertz was 6th in yards n Conf.
Averaged a yard more per attempt than Leary

Nearly had a 3,000 yard season if not injured he would have.
5th in tds with 20, only 3 ints, most coming off hands of receivers.

Trying to shite on that kid just shows butthurt

Leary had less than 100 yards vs our sorry defense lol

Unlike Richardson that cost us about 3 games in 2022. Mertz probably won us 3 games that we would have lost without him.
I am glad he is coming back. He was a bright spot in a dark season.

Agreed

If someone said preseason that Mertz would throw for damn near 3,000 yards with 20 tds only 3 ints

Any of us would’ve signed up for that

Mertz was a good QB. He threw accurately and with good anticipation all year.

I watched enough tape to see he wouldn't pull the trigger downfield hardly unless he felt there was hardly any chance something could go bad. The good QBs in the SEC like Dart and Daniels don't hesitate and fire that ball in there when they have smaller windows. Mertz usually just rolled out more in the same situation and found some line of scrimmage area wide open guy.

A lot of that is situational. I can think of multiple passes Mertz completed downfield in tight spots or windows as well. The offense wasn’t a problem this season and neither was Mertz. The issue on offense if any was OL.

Defense is the reason we didn’t win 8 games at least.

UF fans preseason. Mertz just needs to take what the defense gives him, move the offense and don’t turn it over

UF fans postseason: Mertz wouldn’t throw into coverage, he’s fkn trash even tho he moved the offense with very little pass protection and run game help and didn’t turn it over

Of all the problems on this team, Mertz was not one of them

Dude put his body on the line for this team behind some of the worst OL play I’ve ever seen at UF. Many times he got hit and I was like he’s not getting up. And he did.
