The five star transfer strikes again. We are not good at getting them out of high school but the best in the country at getting them out of the portal.

Gilbert and Bowman should be absolute studs. Lingard and Shorter have high upside we will see if they meet it.

Gilbert and Bowman are huge pickups. Shorter showed some promise during the season. Lingard is pretty far down the depth chart.

Arik mf Gilbert!!! Always thought it made sense with Pitts leaving

Hard time believing it would happen tho. Glad I was somewhat right in thinking UF was the logical choice after Pitts last 2 yrs

I understand Mullen using the portal to his advantage. But we have to start getting the best players in Florida out of H.S. this is Mullens 4th year here its time for him to start getting the best guys in Florida and not seeing them end up in Alabama and Georgia.

Anyone know where we stand on QB, OL, and WR recruits for 2022?

We finished 10th in the country w/o counting the transfers, count them and we had a top five class.

I don't know why people shite all over the transfer market, but I kinda like it. We've got a lot of talent from there, even though a guy like Greenard was a 3-star he came in and got to work.

This is the most 5-stars we've had on the same time since Meyer's days, for sure. (And maybe the first two years of Muschamp and what he inherited.)

I agree but I'm excited for next year. Assuming we have spring practice. Even without I'm still excited to see Emory.

Hopefully Gilbert is cleared. OL. Gets better and the three headed beast at RB thumps like in 18

I would love to see Bowman just outplay everyone and have a Dalvin Cook type take over. Talent is absolutely there. Doubt it tho

If the O line isn't any better this year with all the young guys that have played the last 2 seasons then its time for Hevesy to go. This is all there recruits playing now so no excuses if the O line isn't significantly better Mullen needs to send Hevesy packing.

Secondary was our weak spot last year...in two years it will be our strength

Albino, pump the brakes on Hevesy....he did mold that OL from 2018-19 into a solid outfit last year. And its hard to condemn him for this year when we do have losses on the unit. Forsythe had many starts and say what you will about Delance...but he improved and will be missed. Add in Brett Heggie and we have 3 starters gone right there..

I do think we have a lot of talent though and expect us to hold our water. Gouriage is going to garner some All SEC looks imo. Thank God we have 2 OOC games to start out the season...and dont even think for a minute that Johnny Hot Shot straight off the yellow school bus is gonna be an answer...not on the OL. That position requires quite a few snaps to master.

Hold the phone....looks like Delance is using the NCCA rule to extend his career at UF and Im glad because he did improve quite a bit and 2021 might be the year he needs as a spring board to get pro paychecks.

Here are the secondary players per UFs roster:

Ethan Pouncey r/s frosh
Kamar Wilcoxson r/s frosh
Jahari Rogers r/s frosh
Jordan Young frosh he was rated 27th in the composite national rankings of DBs per 24/7 and had lots of offers, including Bama
Mordeca McDaniel soph
Fenley Graham r/s frosh
Trey Dean sr was injured early in the season
Jason Marshall frosh turning heads in practice and he appears legit
Kaiir Elam jr with lots of snaps under his belt and could be ALL SEC if he stays another year
Tre'Vez Johnson soph
Corey Collier frosh could be a surprise for us
Jaydon Hill jr
Avery Helm r/s frosh

Thats 13 players and no reason we cant get 4 starters out of that group

Ok, on to the DL:

Princely Unanmielen soph and feel sorry for Mick with name
Daquan Newkirk sr transfer
Lamar Goods r/s frosh
Antonio Shelton sr transfer
Jaelin Humphries r/s soph
Chris Thomas frosh
Zach Carter sr. will be wearing # 6 jersey
Jeremiah Moon sr injured last half of season
Gervon Dexter soph one of the highest rated DTs in 2020
Dante Lang r/s jr 6'5" 290
Desmond Watson frosh

thats 11 players and we need 8 to have decent rotation

Onward to LBs now:

Brenton Cox r/s jr is more DE than LB
Khris Bogle jr got a lot of snaps last year
Andrew Chatfield r/s jr was a nightmare for QBs in high school....but he is built for LB
Mohamoud Diabate jr was DE last year and now moved to LB
Derek Wingo soph is gonna be a good one
Ty'Ron Hopper r/s soph has good wheels
Amari Burney sr
Chief Borders frosh has the makings of a great ILB
Ventral Miller r/s sr did the smart thing and has a yeaar to impress scouts
Antuan Powell r/s frosh the "forgotten" one who has the instincts and ability to really help us.

Thats 9 players and we need to have 5 that we can count on I think the defense will be solid.

Academic issues, not our fault that LSU didn't force him to take classes.

Diwun Black still not listed on roster????

Ok, back to 2021 roster and offense...Im gonna lump QBs, WRs and TEs all in one category:

Emory Jones r/s jr
Anthony Richardson r/s frosh
Carlos Del Rio frosh
Jalen Kitna frosh who is 6'5" and only 200, needs training table and Savage to build up body.

Kahleil Jackson r/s frosh and a legacy
Ja'Quavion Frazier soph WR
Xzavier Henderson soph and another legacy
Keon Zipperer jr TE
Johnathan Odom r/s frosh TE
Rick Wells r/s sr
Trent Whittemore r/s soph
Ja'Markis Weston r/s soph
Nick Elksnis frosh TE
Kenmore Gamble r/s sr TE
Justin Shorter r/s jr came on late last year
Jacob Copeland r/s jr

Thats 11 WRs and TEs..a real need for 2021 recruiting, IMO I think Malik Davis should move to WR to help out

Ok, the last installment....the OL:

Gerald Mincey r/s frosh
Stewart Reese r/s sr RG and had his lunch money stolen often
Jean Delance r/s sr and again, showed improvement last year
Griffin McDowell r/s jr
Riley Simmonds r/s soph
Kingsley Equakun r/s soph
Richie Leonard r/s frosh
Michael Tarquin r/s soph could nail starter's spot
Josh Braun soph
Will Harrod r/s soph
T J Moore r/s sr
Richard Gouriage r/s jr might be starter at LT?
Ethan White jr most likely starting center

Thats 13 players and a real need for recruiting...depth is crucial for OL units because of injuries...we lose three OL after this year and need at least 4 to come in and develop. The r/s frosh and r/s sophs listed may be able to help this year.

Final thoughts are that Gators 2021 will be fun to watch....the defense will be tougher and if the OL can get the run game going...we will be competing for the east...I think the reason we haven't ran well the past two years is simply Mullen had a passing game clicking and leaned on it, so the OL didnt have emphasis on running as much.
