I don’t think it matters who’s calling plays if your QB checks from a run to a pass n throws it directly to the DB in the EZ

At the time when I wrote that I didn't realize that AR had checked into that play. Thought that it was called.

AR checked into a really bad RB run on 3rd down against KY too late in the 4th of that game.

Maybe it was the right call, maybe the numbers and leverage of the defense ect were right for the call to work.

He just boned the throw. Bad!

That's true. Shorter, for all his shortcomings, can jump up for a 50/50 ball in the corner of the end zone.

If true, they need to let him loose when Miller is healthy.

He can't play the way he's played the past 2 weeks.

Does the lack of QB depth have anything to do with the 4 interceptions? That hurt us more than him not running.

He has had running lanes the last 2 games and didn't run.

They need to let AR be who he is second guessing is causing all the problems out there. Allow him to do what he does and I really think that will certainly make things better out there for him. Because he is thinking way WAY too much and when that happens so do mistakes.

He needs to play hard and fast and not be thinking about sliding or getting the ball out just play football.

I believe AR not running contributed to some of those ints (not the one on the goal line, that was just wtf on AR's part).

Without the threat of him running, the defense can just force him to try to beat him with his arm. This is something that he can't do. That led to more ints. If he was running, he'd be able to pick up yards with his legs, or at least the threat of him running could put some pressure on opposing secondaries. It seemed that his running threat opened up the passing game against Utah.

This right here.

He is not Peyton Manning or a Brady cerebral type of QB. He does his best when he just goes out and plays. He's been overthinking and it's hindered him big time.

Expect a Utah type game this Saturday....a tough hard fought game that goes down to the wire.

His trainer spins something new every week to make excuses. They just need to let him use his legs and have some designed plays for that. Miller is out again but they cant worry about that. Kitna will just have to play if something happens. We aren't beating Tennessee with AR like he was the last 2 weeks.

Dead on. If he is afraid to run or can't hit an open receiver. Kitna needs to play.

I agree on that. I still really think down the road we will be able to look back on this game to see what ARs fate will be win or lose. If he plays anything like the last 2 weeks it will show he is just another Jones but more athletic. We would probably need to go portal hunting if he plays bad again for an experienced QB that has played for a one year bridge to the newly recruited QBs

Not Gator related, but Utah is up on the Fighting Emory's of Tempe 17-3 with 3 min left in the first half.

Pretty expected. AzSt is a bad team.

Utah looking like the 85 Bears from what little I saw

ASU's o-line is a turn style.

Emory is getting hammered hard. Feel kind of bad for him.

So Whittingham went for it, up 31-6, on 4th and goal at the end of the 3rd quarter and Rising's pass got knocked down.

Then, in the 4th quarter, same score, Utah went for it again on 4th and 1 (while in FG range) and was about to go for it near the goal line on 4th and 2 when a false start penalty pushed them back and they settled for a field goal.

It seems that this aggressive approach is being employed by other teams now too.

I wonder if it's because coaches are realizing that most college kickers are not very good, so they're just rolling the dice with their offense?
