Finch....you are reaching back to 2011 to proclaim that the Gators wont beat Bama ?

Actually, I can pick every year we’ve played them until ‘08.

We’ve never come close until last year.

Finch, sit down and let me tell you a story...in 1963 the Gators lost 0-9 to Ga Tech to start the season...went and got deadlocked by Miss St 9-9 (no overtime then) and then beat Richmond in a shootout 35-28....to even their standings to 1-1-1....Gator folks were a little upset because they all thought 1963 would be a pretty good year/

Next game ?? was the mighty Bear Bryants and they were ranked # 3 in the country PLUS we had to play them upp in Tuscaloosa...yikes people were expecting a blood bath. Well, Bear Bryant suffered his first loss at home to the Gators 10-6....we played great defense and a 40 yd TD run sealed their fate.

My father and I listened to the whole game on his Buick car radio and since it was a convertible...we soon had a crowd around us at Lowry Park.

Dont ever give up Finch.

11-1

I predict we beat both Bama and Georgia though. Lose a game we shouldn’t later in the year becoming to cocky similar to the LSU game last season

1)The heck to with Malik Davis, make way for Wright
2)Copey will have a great year 1000+ yards 5 TDs
3)Defense PPG <17
4)Kris Bogle will unleash the Monster inside
5)Finley Graham =best Saftey
6)Jason Marshall Jr. = Elam

Thoughts.

not even gonna bother with record predictions cause my opinion doesnt matter

None of our predictions mean squat....but its fun to look ahead. Right now every team is undefeated. But I look at our roster and see the change in the defense coming.

Zach Carter, Gervon Dexter, Lamar Goods (redshirted because of high school injury), Jaelin Humphries, Jalen Lee, Daquan Newkirk (sr transfer), Antonio Shelton (sr transfer), Desmond Watson all 390 lbs of him + a few others as squad team guys on the DL

Khris Bogle, Chief Borders, Lacedrick Brunson sr, Amari Burney sr, Andrew Chatfield, Brenton Cox (showed speed rush ability), Mohamound Diabate (showed speed and toughness), Ty'Ron Hopper soph with wheels, Ventrell Miller the sr leader on defense, Jeremiah Moon almost 6'6 and a pass rushing threat sr, Antwuan Powell r/s frosh because of injury and highly recruited, Derek Wingo true soph, JUCO # 1 Lber Diwun Black sums up a strong LB corp

Kaiir Elam All SEC CB, Trey Dean rover back, Jaydon Hill got a lot of snaps as CB, Tre Vez Johnson also got snaps as CB, Rashad Torrence got a lot of snaps as a safety, Jason Marshall a highly rated CB, Jordan Young also heavily recruited CB, Corey Collier team mate of Jason Marshall and heavily recruited as safety, add a slew of r/s frosh Graham Fenley, Avery Helm, Donovon McMillon, Ethan Pouncey, Jahari Rogers, Kamar Wilcoxson all r/s frosh and now 2nd year on campus + soph Mordecai Mc Daniel giving us a lot of depth in the secondary. Expect to see Jason Marshall a lot at CB and ditto Collier at safety.

Look the reality is this team's floor is arguably 6-6/7-5 if the defense doesn't get LOADS better.

That much is a fact. Missouri and Kentucky are going to be VERY good this year, and we have both on the road.

Add that to Bama, UGA, and LSU - not to mention a road trip to an FSU team who shouldn't be a complete dumpster fire this year, and that schedule is tough.

I really thought 2 years ago (odd how it happened, but still) was Mullen's best team at UF, which I thought would go 11-1.

Last year I thought 7-3 was most probable given the COVID situation and holes on defense.

I'm thinking 9-3 is where this team ends up. And I'm not trying to shite all over the program here.

I'm just being realistic.

I agree with Box I think if this team can get to 9 wins possible 10 in the Citrus Bowl against either penn st or Iowa then this will be a very good season because Mullen will win one no one thinks he will (LSU) and lose one to either Kentucky or Missouri and lose to UGA & BAMA

I think anywhere from 8-4 to 10-2. It’s asking a lot to replace so many offensive weapons. I like Emory but he’s an unknown. I actually feel pretty optimistic about upsetting Bama early on though. They seem to get better as the season goes on so we get them early and they lost a ton.

I really do not get the whole we are going to upset Bama thing look I would love for that to happen but Bama will be playing Miami while we play the sisters for the ohms of the poor High school FAU. the next week south Florida and Bama plays a easy game that the starters should be out after halftime so only time will tell but I just don't see UF beating Bama. That is why they play the game but I really think Saban will have his team ready to physically beat us up all over the field. upfront there O-line vs our D-line is the worst match up we will have all year. Bama may run for over 300 yards on our defensive front unfortunately this year we don't have the hosses upfront.

I disagree. Bama is almost always at the top of their game early in the season against marquee opponents.

Box, first off we have the semiholes at home. You are so wrong about the defense and if not better than 2020 we will be a 7 win team...you are outta your mind. But I feel we will be better than defense's of last year....look at all the secondary frosh that were redshirted...we had to use some kids in the secondary last year that weren't ready.

Losing Stiner and Stewart as safeties is addition by subtraction. I watched too many plays were Stiner couldn't tackle for shiit and Stewart was lost. We now have depth and Jason Marshall was rated the #3 CB last year with Jordan Young right behind him. Corey Collier is a top notch safety and will be on the field early and often as a true frosh.

Cox will have a full year under his belt and has learned the techniques of pass rushing...he will be in Bryce Young's face all day. Everybody talks about how we lost so much on offense, but Bama only has 3 starters back on the offense...why not question them ?? We will beat Bama at home and everybody shut the negative up.

I’ve seen this movie before too many times with people getting all hyped up and acting like we are gonna flat out destroy a Saban Bama team…

I think we will not be as good as 2020, but have a better overall record.

I think we beat either Georgia or Alabama, but lose to a LSU, Mizzou, or Kentucky in a game we feel we should've won.

10-2

Not bad for a "rebuilding" type of year

So, how about Copeland, Henderson and Whittemore ? What will they do?

Bowman was a beast in HS. Hopefully he’s got the Mullens O figured out and will do the same now.

I think the offense is going to be a lot better than people realize, honestly.

Emory will be able to take a lot of heat off of the offensive line that Trask couldn't. Not to say Trask wasn't serviceable, just that they had to be a lot better because of his lack of mobility.

With Emory, even if they're not doing well, Mullen can sort of scheme around it to keep DE's from getting too comfortable. Emory will make people pay with his legs.

I also think we'll see some RBs at slot and doing pretty well, Bowman among them who will likely be all over the field since we're a little thin at receiver and pretty thick at RB.

God I hope you are right. I just have so little faith in the offensive line.

Mullen is tried and true with the offense.

I just really hope the defense can at least take one step forward and have it done. But I still remember so many plays where Trask, if he could even give a little gallop, would have made it in the end zone.

I hope he's hard to sack, too, because he's gonna get hit a lot.
