Grimes coming back is so, so massive. He is a more true number 1 receiver than Copeland for sure.

Henderson or Frazier will likely see a lot of play time next year.

I'm not really sold on Wells all that much. Just seeing his practice clips I never got the feel he was great.

However; if we move Pitts to slot we can have Copeland, Grimes, Pitts, and Zipperer on the field all at once. Match up night mares.

Only thing missing is a true slot receiver. Maybe Fenley Graham can do that?

Copeland at slot IMO. Maybe Marks

Or just use TEs Zipperer and Pitts flexed out

Mullen likes big WRs.

Weston is a burner deep threat. At FNL he blew by Jaydon Hill on a deep route. Going to be one of those "why was he a 3*? guys".

Edit: The answer will be that he played for Clewiston HS and worked at a job instead of going to camps.

Copeland at slot maybe but you usually have to have more sure hands in slot because more passes are in traffic. I'd rather a really good route runner in slot and keep Copeland and his wheels outside. I'm not Mullen though who knows.

Toney.

Antonio Callaway until he barely made the cut for a 4-star (and really he only got it because rating agencies are horse shite).

I actually found out today that Trask is not a composite 3-star since Rivals and 247 have him rated as a 2-star and only ESPN has him rated as a 3-star.

That being said: There are plenty of diamonds in the rough. You can 100% develop 3-stars to play like 5-stars.

Like Greenard.

Or Taven.

Or Trask. (2-star)

Toney is not a great wr. Great athlete sure but but the stats don’t say he’s a great wr.

But seriously go back and look in the modern recruiting era uf has not had a productive 3star wr. The sample is small but still.

Toney has had extremely limited touches, but to say he's a what, average receiver? is a stretch. He's making 19.4 yards a reception. If that isn't great I'm not sure what more you're looking for except for maybe more touches.

Only having 10 receptions but having 194 yards is extremely impressive, and I'll wager that if he stays for next year those numbers will greatly improve.

I also think your question is loaded.

When was the last time we had a great receiver of any caliber? I ask because we have had pretty shitty Quarterbacks all the way from Brantley to Franks. It's really hard to showcase your talent when we don't have a QB that can successfully get you the ball.

All I see him do is run from one sideline to the other. Half of those yards probably came from that big run he had against Miami.

You mean that one time he broke three tackles and took it to the house?

He missed six games due to an injury to his shoulder, I'm sure he would have many more yards and receptions if he wasn't banged up.

Even looking on 2018 he's averaging 11.4 yards a rush and over ten yards a completion.

Those are great numbers when combined.

Not a fan of Toney's. The Miami play was great but he did not learn routes or the playbook. Perine and Davis are better WRs than Toney.

As for great 3 star WRs at UF, we have not had many great WRs period recently outside of the last two years.

I would say that Brandon Powell was the best 3 star WR. Spent the Muschamp years as a RB. He transitioned well to a productive WR.

Dancing to nearly 20 yards a reception, had over ten yards a reception and rush in 2018. Drop the Haterade.

And man oh man are you guys going to be eating your words if he comes back in 2020.

Like you guys ate your words with Franks.

Like you guys just recently ate your words with recruiting.

dude, he averaged less than 5 yards per carry this year. regardless of injury.

take away the 66 yarder against miami, it drops to less than 15 yards per catch. that's a quick slant and matches the rest of the team. and those receivers can run routes.

now if you want to utilize him correctly, put him at kick return. but he doesn't need to be out there running routes and side stepping linebackers and corners.

I mean, it was 4.9 which is about as good as any given SEC RB. That's pretty good for a WR.

Considering Perine, an NFL back got 5.2 and Pierce, another future NFL back got 5.6.

Saying he didn't have a high average rushing is the same retardation as asking for a great Gator WR three star when we haven't had a good Quarterback in ten years.

He had 10 catches for nearly 200 yards, slice and dice however you want, having so few catches and so many yards is probably a good indicator that he is a lot better than you guys want to admit, especially if I go back and look at some receipts about guys leaving.

You guys have literally lost your minds.

all i'm saying is i saw him laying on his back behind the line of scrimmage more than i did on his feet beyond the line of scrimmage.
