So I was OK not winning this game, even though I wanted to win badly. But laying an egg like we did is unacceptable. I’m done with White. I don’t care what the rest of the season holds, if you can’t even be competitive with FSU in any sport at UF then you cannot be the head coach. The best coaches don’t have games like this on the reg.
I think beating Kentucky and Tennessee is way more important for our basketball program than beating FSU. White's record against them is a black mark against him, but we play them so early in the season now that it's not make-or-break.

We've looked bad but we've got so much talent and I'll give this team time to develop before giving up on White

Ball movement in general looked better against Towson.

But I think the real problem is pace. Nembhard needs to speed up the tempo. He’s a good passer and can hit the 3, but if he’s just gonna walk and dribble up the court on every possession, we are wasting so much of the talent and athleticism on this team.

I agree and based on Whites comments he is working on up tempo in practice and wants to use it more as the season goes on and they improve at it.

Thank goodness. I think that's what most of us have been calling for since that P90 tourney.

We have the athletes to out pace a lot of teams. He has recruited some elite athletes and hopefully we get this pace going and use it. The defense has had some issues but overall it's been decent. I think by SEC play the defense will be fine, just some mental errors to clean up.

I think White finally realized it watching the FSU game.

Though we have still at times gone too slow, a lot of quicker possessions so far and when we have them we have had wide open or easy buckets.

This team could be very, very good if we continue to try to go quicker. I get it doesnt happen over night but the Towson and start of this UCONN game you can just see how good we can be with quick pace. I know White sees it he has said as much.

Hopefully by conference play we are able to consistently up tempo teams offensively.

Defense looks good, still struggling with that corner three being wide open at times but is what it is.

Well I must have jinxed it. We went back to retard mode like every White team for the last three years.

I know you guys hatd hearing this but...

UF is widely considered the 2nd best program in the SEC. When is the last time we looked like the 2nd best team, or the best team?

We have the talent. We've had the talent. We have underachieved for to long for our fans to continue to say it's cool. Unless a lot changes later in the season, it's time for White to go. His offense is consistently offensive. His players seem to regress more than progress from year 1 to 2..

He can recruit...he can coach defense..but we arent winning anything with how lacking he is as an offensive coach. He is Muschamp. Its beyond obvious at this point.

Hopefully it changes. Maybe he has a wake up and finally decides offense is something you coach...but after years of the same shite...hard to assume he will.

I've given up on him. This is season 2 of an inept offense. Players seem to regress under him offensively.

Season 2? It's been every year but one our offense has been a weakness. We thought we saw turn around in the p90 but my oh my we went back to the amazingly inefficient dribble drive fricktardary after that and regressed mightily.

Y’all think there’s any chance Billy D could make his way back home? It seems like this will be his last year in OKC. Wonder if he misses Gainesville and the college game.

If Billy D came back I would cry for a week with happiness. I love Billy. Second favorite Gator of all time behind Spurrier. Would be a great moment.

I will say either 12 SEC wins or Sweet Sixteen is the minimum expectation this season. Looks like a pretty weak year for the league. We're definitely not firing White because of that extension we gave him one year too early but if we don't do either then I'll be down on White. I don't expect Lewis, Nembhard, or Blackshear (obviously) back in 2020-21. This needs to be the year.

How can you be up on White at this point? I can almost guarantee this prediction.

We will struggle off and on. Look as we should have the start the season by midseason. Finish 3rd or 4th in conference(not good enough but sadly people will claim good enough to not fire his average coaching self). Then win a game or two in the SEC tourney. Once again enough for people to claim notfireable. Then win the first weekend and lose the second weekend in the tourney. All not firable of course, but guess what...this is the team. Yet he will likely do as he has done all but one season. Under achieve.

Maybe I'm just too high on what I expect. But Billy proved how good this program can be. White isnt a top 5 SEC coach...much less national coach. I'd love to hear why he should be kept if we underachieve again.

I'm not "up" on him by any means at this point and when I say I'd be "down" on him if we don't meet my expectations I mean that I'd recognize he's not going anywhere considering the extension we just gave him but would essentially be waiting and running out the clock until we go in a different direction.

But for now I'm just hoping that we turn it around because it's still ridiculously early in the season. Basketball seasons aren't decided in November although we are putting ourselves at an early disadvantage with seeding.

I agree on waiting. Like I said. See where it finishes of course. But at some point it seems a spade is a spade. I'm praying we fix the issues and set up to make a strong run. Just have little confidence right now in the direction. The man can recruit, this team has a shite load of talent. Just worried it gets wasted.

Unfortunately what you see is what you get and what we see right now is a very poor basketball team sorry guys but this is not a tournament team right now nor are they a top 25 team.

This team should not be struggling this bad at this point in the season. I definitely dont see this team turning it around at the most this team wins 20 games and will be lucky to be on the bubble. the last 4 in or last 4 out at the end of the seaon

I mean it's fair to expect a little growing pains..but FSU and UConn are not good teams and both dictated the entire game verse us. FSU is replacing a shite ton too, yet destroyed us on our own court despite us having substantially more talent.

I disagree. I am frustrated with the early season struggles, but I still expect this team to finish the season strong and compete for the SEC and national championship.

How? I wish I had your optimism.

Because, the past 2 seasons under White, our best offensive players have regressed, not progressed.
That's not an opinion, that's a fact.

I can see all the talent. If White can't put it together he needs to see the door. But I am not giving up on this season, because it is way too early.

It's happened the last several years. Returning players regressing. It's been noticed but put off by a lot of fans on other sites but it's being called out now finally. Guess I was just a year to soon on my critiques of him

Season is far from over, but I just don't think we will ever get to the premier basketball level we were under Donovan(though not every year). That's my major concern. Was really, really hoping he made some hires this off season to switch things up on offense. He seems to be ride or die with the plan though. Hopefully the team gets it together and shows out. Talent is absolutely there.

Here is how other SEC coaches rank jobs in the SEC. So the question is...should the second best job have the second best coach? Is White the second best coach? If not..does the coach match the school?
