NPF predictions are really all over the place. You go to a different board and you will get a different answer, even among Gator sites. I tend to think it is between UF and Notre Dame.

NPF goes to Berkeley Prep school...which is a private school. Most of the parents who send their kids to school there are "old money" and aren't in need of a free education as other parents are.
Most of kids at Berkeley Prep come from families who have plenty of resources and Notre Dame is attractive...especially if one of the parents or close relatives attended ND.

The good news is that there are several factors working in our favor: Location is heavily in our favor and while a degree from ND is amazing, Florida isn't terrible. We have excellent academics and we're closer to home, and our depth chart means he can play pretty quickly even if it's not that big of a deal.
That being said, there's still more good news! Those who are recruiting types on 247 have their crystal balls for us, too. (The most accurate and actual writers for each school). With ND having 2 writers saying he's going to Alabama, 2 saying he's going to Florida and 1 going to ND. Florida writers have 4 for him coming to Florida, 1 for Alabama. Alabama writers have 4 for him coming to Florida, 1 for ND.
But, it's recruiting, so we can fully expect to fall flat on our faces.

I definitely think that if he is undecided at this point, the longer it plays out the better it is for us. Home state advantage.

When these guys put in crystal balls so close to signing day I take it with a grain of salt.
To me waiting this long means they’re 100% guessing and don’t have much to go on.
Some guys have inside info but I’d guess most of the fellas haven’t a clue.
Might as well be us throwing some crystal down on these players.

Obvious troll,but agree on Lovett
No troll here but you guys can say whatever you want about me trust me not hurting my feeling one bit. just calling what is possible a new staff is not getting everyone so not getting these guys will hurt but that leaves room for guys next year after everyone seeing the product that mullen produces on the field

It's not that they're going off of whims -- they get a lot of information from recruits, friends of recruits and the like.
If ND is saying Alabama or Florida, Alabama is saying Florida and Florida is saying Florida, it means something. These guys have like 75 - 90% accuracy (some of them).
It doesn't mean he can't go to ND, but it's in our favor for sure.

One good thing about NPF is that he wont be an embarrassment to any school he attends. Academics is at the top of his needs. Bama I don't see since the academics are not on par with UF or ND....but if he chose Bama it would be for the rings.
Closeness to home isn't as important as Straw thinks. I can tell you flat out that Berkeley Prep is heads and shoulders above Tampa Catholic or Jesuit High Schools. Back in the early 1970s I used to live across the street from Tampa Catholic and it was a small school with strict requirements to get into. Not anymore. Jesuit is one of the best baseball programs in the state. We need elite OL who are team players. NPF would need a year at least to develop...maybe two.

Zach Abolverdi said NPF to Notre Dame
Luke Stampini said it’s looking more like Notre Dame
Hopefully he has a change of heart but we will see.

Ohio State 247:
quote:
It appears the Buckeyes are very much involved and have a real chance. Petit-Frere is a tight-lipped recruit who doesn’t involve in too much of the publicity that other top prospects share in, but more and more information on his recruitment has begun to leak out as time has gone on. It appears highly unlikely at this point that Alabama or Michigan will land the 5-star prospect and I would bet against Notre Dame pulling out a victory here after former offensive line coach Harry Hiestand’s departure from the Irish program. At this point, I can’t bet against the home-state Florida Gators. Ohio State has done very well here on the final official visit from everything I’ve heard and there’s a level of comfort between Petit-Frere and his family and Buckeyes defensive coordinator Greg Schiano. I wouldn’t be shocked if Ohio State ultimately won this recruitment and landed his signature, but I think Florida makes too much sense right now and I haven’t heard anything to make me change my mind.

When was that? Schiano was announced leaving for New England earlier today.

Apparently AU is conceding Tannor. How stupid is that for Auburn? Very. Kid has proven to be extremely impressionable. I love that they have thrown in the towel though per their 247 reporter. Nebraska/Florida battle and the kid is the real deal off the edge, perfect for 3-4 D.
