I think it’s the best option.
It may not have the networking opportunities as some of its peers in DC but it is so much more cost effective - in terms of tuition and cost of living.
Plus, I know a few that never stepped foot in DC. Used the A&M connection to find the sweet spot of being able to find a job with our degree but in Houston or another TX city.
I wish I had been able to land such a job.
Eta: I always enjoyed watching the foreign students or American students from smaller schools immediately embrace A&M and its cult and its love of college football. I had to explain to them that I already belonged to a similar cult about 1000 miles away.

Your last sentence has been me since I got here haha. People keep asking me if I have embraced the culture yet, and I am like "yeah, it's cool, but USC is still home". They don't get it, but alot of them are from smaller schools or went to A&M for undergrad. I am known as the "Gamecock", and people have called me out several times walking the hall haha. I should run for student government at this point. After the UGA game, everyone had something to say. Needless to say, the A&M game week wasn't fun for me haha.
I completely agree with your other point about costs. I was also accepted into Pittsburgh, and even though their program was ranked slightly higher, that school would have cost me over $100,000. A&M is going to cost me like a quarter of that with the instate tuition waiver. It's a pretty cool place honestly, and you get to meet a ton of serious people. I do not regret my choice.

Yeah - as far as I remember nearly every peer school for the Bush School is a private school in a big city. Like you, I remember looking into other schools I got into and it would've been $100k per year.
Just not worth it.
As for the cult thing... well it's times like these when I wish A&M were in the Big 12. It has nothing to do with our 0-6 record against them (after all, we beat them down in almost every other sport)... it's just hard to root against a team that is in direct competition against us.
My first year there, 2014, was the first year the two schools played so neither school really knew shite about the other - hence the Great State House Misunderstanding of 2014. That was also the first Gamecock home game I had missed in about 9 years and I was in Aggieland. The one time the Gamecocks were in town was the freakin' Perry Orth game.
But I've also never regretted my choice to go there. I loved my time there and loved the school and loved they at least tried to recruit all of its students into the cult and tried to get all of its students to love being an Aggie. I just can't support its teams vs the Gamecocks.
Also, go to J.Cody's.
